what was up with the Holmes fan getting tossed? I think the cop storming over there with the look of " I am going to kill you" probably didnt help but when a police officer tells you to sit down in your seat and you jaw back... you are more than likely going to be out in the cold like that poor fella. Someone said when the ball when out of bounds down there in the corner and all of those "standing room" fans from Holmes may have been jawing the referee. All I saw was a cop storming over there and then some guy either pleading his case or whatever and the cop just grabbed his arm and tossed him.

The fan actually came out onto the floor and was mouthing at the Highlands players. At least that is what I saw from where I was sitting.

 

By the way, I thought it was a great hard fought game. Looking forward to a rematch between these two teams. :thumb:

Austin Hill is looking like the player I visioned when I say some talented small kid playing a pick up game at St.Augustine in Covington a few years back. It took Austin a few years to catch back up with them, but I'm starting to sway CSHS and HSSB way as much as I hate it. But I still think its hard to choose between Henderson and Hill.

This win simply shows what we all already know -- yes, Holmes "could" lose to Highlands and "could" lose to CovCath, but they continue not to. Yes, Holmes "could" lose in the 9th Region tourney, but to expect that to happen is simply being hopeful. They beat HHS by 5 and beat CCH by 3, they played short-handed and just okay against CCH and it seems like they played just good enough to win against HHS. To say they are anything but the clear-cut #1 in the 9th is just being biased.

 

We have heard all year that anyone can beat anyone in the 9th, and as I have said since day 1, maybe, but you still haven't seen CCH or HHS lose a 9th region game to someone out of the top 3, and you still haven't seen Holmes lose in the 9th to anyone. My guess is that trend will continue through early March.

guess the bottom line is what happens on the floor. Congrats to Holmes.

4. Tanner Johnson needs to control his emotions and not get himself in foul trouble. I love his hustle and toughness but he has to be smart.

I think that was just frustration on Edmonson's part. He is a much better player than what he showed last night. I don't know what was wrong but he did not like the fact that that kid on the bench wouldnt give him his towel. Congrats to Holmes... they hit their FT's and turned it on in the 4th period and deserved to win.

 

I will say that as I walked to my car I did hear a bunch of Holmes fans complaining about the refs and making statements about how they will destroy HHS on a nuetral floor next time, blah blah blah... I wish some people would just win with grace and give some respect to these kids for a hard fought win and quit acting like their team is getting a raw deal.

Last year everyone said that Holmes "could" beat CovCath but the Colonels beat them twice. Anything is possible, including a Holmes loss. I think a Holmes loss to a Dixie or NewCath even wouldn't be any more shocking then CovCath's loss to Conner last year.

If Holmes loses in the 9th Region tourney to someone not named CCH or HHS then I will eat Crow served to me in any fashion you prefer. Not going to happen.

1. You are joking right about Jefferson not being able to stay with Vories. How many points did the kid that averages 20+ a game have. How successful was he in the second half. He didn't prevent Duran from really doing anything on his end either. I think you can chalk this up as Jefferson being the first person to put him in check. And you know what, this is the same think that three of my Bluebird friends told me after the game. Vories is a great player and had a great 1st quarter, but after that he was not that much of a factor IMO. I do think he is one the top players in the 9th though.

Not being there and looking at the box score i'm going to have to agree. I wouldn't say Jefferson couldn't stop Vorihees if he had 14. Also the fact Jefferson had 13 and his teams doens't expect that many point out of him for them to win.

 

Sounds like some bluebird fans are exagerating.

Bird's kept the Eaton boy on the bench too long in the second half. He had an outstanding first half when Smith & Johnson were in foul trouble and should have been used early/often in the 2nd half to keep them in the game. IMHO

INTENSE is all I can say. You know a game, just like a movie, was great if you're still thinking about it the next day. I can't get it off of my mind. Infact it felt like I was watching a movie packed with intense DRAMA on and off the court. I had been thinking beforehand that this game should be the biggest game of the regular season and it certainly lived up to the hype. I think that everyone there got their money's worth and I can't wait for the 'sequal' to come out somewhere around March 11th.

From what I was just told by some Holmes people I seriously have doubts about Holmes winning the region now. Could be a huge. Stay tuned.
