Movies That Take You Back To Your Childhood

Featured Replies

What are some movies that when you see or hear someone talking about just take you back to fond memories of your childhood. I have a ton, but a few I remember watching relentlessly on our old Beta or VHS tapes:

Little Monsters

Harry and the Hendersons

Pete's Dragon

Swiss Family Robinson

The Herbie Movies

I have plenty of others that I could name, but didn't want to make the list too extensive to start.

Not necessarily a movie, but brought out the tape of the Schoolhouse Rock segments the other day. My little boy is studying the Preamble in his social studies class. Took me back to a lot of Saturday mornings when I was growing up.

The Goonies

Pee Wee's Big Adventure

Back to the Future

Big

The Toy

E. T.

Any of the original Bad News Bears movies.

The Sandlot

Little Rascals

Little Giants

Rookie of the Year

Mary Poppins and A Hard Day's Night were the first two movies I can remember seeing, don't know which one came out first.

Old Yeller 1957

Around the world in 80 days 1956

The Spirit of St. Louis 1957

The Little Rascals TV series 1955

The Wonderful World of Disney 1954 and the Mickey Mouse Club 1955 TV series

...........

The Apple Dumpling Gang

And Grease for high school.

The Sandlot

I would have guessed...

...never mind.

My parents tell me they went to see "The Left Hand of God" (Humphrey Bogart) the night before I was born.

As far as actual movies I remember going to see when I was little -

Pinnochio

Emil and the Detectives

Mary Poppins

Fantastic Voyage

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken

The Ugly Dachshund

That Darn Cat

Visit to a Small Planet

PT 109

Father Goose

My parents tell me they went to see "The Left Hand of God" (Humphrey Bogart) the night before I was born.
Did they mention what kind of movie they were watching the night you were conceived?
