September 27, 201312 yr Rates up about 10% from last year but the coverages are a little different. The best plan calls for a "health analysis".....pretty much they are going to see if I am healthy.....
September 28, 201312 yr My daughter received their insurance plan info yesterday. Her monthly premium will double if she chooses the option that is basically the same to what she currently has. She also has to sign a "living well" pledge concerning lifestyle, exercise, weight, etc. to be able to qualify for the better options, which is subject for review the following year. This. Exactly the same for me.....
September 28, 201312 yr This. Exactly the same for me..... She still has a good plan, and is affordable compared to most others I have seen, but it still is a hard hit for her.
September 28, 201312 yr She still has a good plan, and is affordable compared to most others I have seen, but it still is a hard hit for her. That and no raises for State Gov't workers in forever....
September 30, 201312 yr What business is it of the Government to force me to have health care? Next will I have to join a gym? I mean really, I am being force to have either the government plan or a private insurance plan and if I don't choose either I have to pay a fee? I'm being taxed for "freedom of choice".
October 2, 201312 yr Me and my wife pay $72.50 each, $145.0 total, a month cross-referencing from our work. Plans on the exchange - $452.37 - $1159.17. Yeah.......

If you have insurance through work, you won't need to access insurance through the exchanges. Also, is that price with or without the subsidies??
October 2, 201312 yr If you have insurance through work, you won't need to access insurance through the exchanges. Also, is that price with or without the subsidies?? Also, how much is the employer paying?
October 2, 201312 yr I just love that this can be forced on people as a tax, b/c a fine is levied and the IRS oversees it. Nothing like being forced into a stream of commerce, but you can't say that.
October 2, 201312 yr I just love that this can be forced on people as a tax, b/c a fine is levied and the IRS oversees it. Nothing like being forced into a stream of commerce, but you can't say that. Just like car insurance, vehicle registration, building permits, stadium taxes, etc. Not saying its right, but we are forced into many streams of commerce.
October 2, 201312 yr Just like car insurance, vehicle registration, building permits, stadium taxes, etc. Not saying its right, but we are forced into many streams of commerce. Not even close to a fair comparison. But I know this is what is being spouted by supporters of the mandate. Driving isn't a privilige, to build isn't a privilige and so on down the list. This isn't a forced tax or fee on someone who is choosing to purchase a product. This is forcing someone to buy a product just for being born. This isn't even remotley like car insurance. With car insurance, driving is a privlige and to use public roads the state government (notice not the federal government) forces you to insure yourself for the saftey of other drivers. Health insurance you are being forced to buy without any other action you have chosen on your own behalf .
October 2, 201312 yr If you have insurance through work, you won't need to access insurance through the exchanges. Also, is that price with or without the subsidies?? I know that. You do realize employers will drop insurance because it will be cost effective, then I will have to pay those prices......or more.....
October 2, 201312 yr I know that. You do realize employers will drop insurance because it will be cost effective, then I will have to pay those prices......or more..... No that would never happen. Lol. It is almost hysterical how this is being ignored. When this starts happening a larger scale the push for single payer will start.
October 3, 201312 yr Just like car insurance, vehicle registration, building permits, stadium taxes, etc. Not saying its right, but we are forced into many streams of commerce. More appropriately, it would be like being forced to buy car insurance even though you don't have a car, and never intend to drive one.
October 3, 201312 yr As I just posted in another thread, I see Obamacare as more like Social Security and Medicare than auto insurance. We all pay into Social Security and Medicare and we all are required to do so. Those two programs are benefit programs like Obamacare is. The best thing about Obamacare as of now is it is a privatized benefit. Yes, there are government requirements but private commerce is still the leading provider of the benefit. I see Obamacare as a safety net for all of us and a program for the public good, just like Social Security and Medicare. Am I missing something in that comparison?
