October 3, 201312 yr As I just posted in another thread, I see Obamacare as more like Social Security and Medicare than auto insurance. We all pay into Social Security and Medicare and we all are required to do so. Those two programs are benefit programs like Obamacare is. The best thing about Obamacare as of now is it is a privatized benefit. Yes, there are government requirements but private commerce is still the leading provider of the benefit. I see Obamacare as a safety net for all of us and a program for the public good, just like Social Security and Medicare. Am I missing something in that comparison? If I were around at the time of those two bad pieces of legislation I would of been against them to. But again neither of those force an individual to buy a product in the private market. Again a wrong comparison.
