Is that true that not one Highlands O-line player was on the top 100 in N KY? Can't hardly believe that. I guess no one was holding the defence out on Saturday when they completed all those passes. And I guess no one was making the holes for the runs that scored 47 unanswered points. 6 straight titles and all that without the best o-line. Give me a break.

Folks were packed in like sardines in the shade by the concession area' date=' including my wife and our friends. I sat in the blazin' heat like the man that I am amd cheered the Birds on to victory. As an aside, [b']I even witnessed a fracas between Highlands #1 fan and some UC faithful.......[/b]The result? #1 fan didn't have a chance.:isurrender::lol:

 

I hope it wasn't the guy that gives "the look." :lol2: :lol2:

I caught the first half of the replay on ESPNU tonight at 6 PM HST (Midnight EST) in a sports bar in Kapaa Hawaii. Pretty neat watching Highlands on their big screen, even though there was no sound. By the end, of the first half, all knew about the Birds.

 

I thought the UC team linemen looked completely gassed by halftime. #55 was over 300 lbs and going both ways in that heat. WOW. No wonder HHS did so well in the second half.

 

Cannot wait to get home to check it out (with sound).

LOL. Heard he drove by the UC buses about 5 different times after the game to the tune of some perforated tailpipes and some AC/DC...Rock on baby...

 

Apparently the ole clutch would slipped right at the spot where the buses were parked, definately got some looks...

He's always been harmless when I've been around him. I think most opposing fans take him with a grain of salt, but UC's fans were unlike any that I've ever seen. Those two rows under the press box were louder than the entire Bluebird fan base including the band, IMO. One guy was screaming incessantly 5 minutes before gametime to "light someone up for no reason!" It was a pretty rabid crew to say the least, but no blood was drawn this day.

The Floridians needed shade and sent some unhappy Birds fans packing. You would have thought they were use to game-time temps! I was very close to the action and the section in question had blankets thrown to no avail. They through out the D word and really were an obnoxious bunch. The parent that was loud wanted to play bully ball (his words). Did not have near the class as the Rocks. The best part parents were concerned about an escort when leaving that is funny in Fort Thomas.

These types of things are not that surprising imo. Just totally different viewpoints, cultures and geographic locations.

My oldest son went to an FBU Camp in Miami Fl before his Sr yr and I can tell you this, it is just an entirely different world and animal in South Florida and I would suspect all of FL.

 

It was a great camp, he learned real quick to have your head on a swivel even when it is just a camp with no equipment and he also learned how to play with his mouth shut during that week and it drove those people nuts.

Ya better have some thick skin and not have rabbit ears and ya better have your head on a swivel.

 

And that includes parents and fans...Just sayin

Sorry guys, I don't care how UC fans acted, I can't stand when we have fans drop to that level and what was described does in my opinion. Their fans who were obnoxious had a very loooooong drive home, hope they enjoyed it.

Not worth it! Moving on to the Camels this week.

His family moved from Virginia when dad was relocated for his job. His parents were looking at Highlands, Cincy St X and CovCath and he chose the Birds because his aunt and uncle live on Vi Gerding Way in Ft Thomas so they wanted to live close to family...Great choice, Just sayin

 

If I'm not mistaken, he is a cousin of the late, great Nathan Seiter and Justin from Brossart. Not a bad family to inherit athletic genes from on his Mom's side.

"Sophomore Kicker Jared Daugherty was putting on a clinic with his booming kickoffs. No better place to show your foot than on ESPNU. I am guessing he will get some major looks as well with his foot."

 

The booming kicks and extra points by Dougherty were impressive the entire game. Jared's leg is a huge weapon for the Birds and he is only a Sophomore! Looking forward to watching this young man play for the Birds on the Off/Def side of the ball.

 

Jared has been booting lost balls since 3rd grade kickball on the Johnson playground! A very nice weapon indeed. A heck of a kicker and even better athlete. I am sure he will be very fun to watch over the next couple of years!

All I want to know is where did this Feggins kid come from? He is a man among boys and will definitely rise to the next level.

He has decided to concentrate on playing at the next level in football and now as a junior has the look of one that will achieve that goal. Jenson is a player that must be seen in person to be appreciated, he will not put up gaudy stats playing for the Birds. Even though they are a pass happy team, they currently have 9 receivers in the rotation.

 

 

I have been very impressed with the contribution, albeit 1 game and 1 scrimmage, of the underclassmen for the Birds. I have been one that has sung the praises of the senior group, but already impressed by some of the juniors getting playing time. This being without two of the best, Andrew Abner and Griffin Urlage, yet to play. Looks as if both will be cleared for the Camels game Friday night. Yikes..
