Jack Clark Accuses Pujols and Verlander of PED use

Featured Replies

Looks like Clark is getting exactly what he wanted, exposure. I'll bet a week ago no one even knew he was going to have a radio show.

What he appears to be saying looks pretty flimsy at best.

Could he be right, of course he could be. Is he right, maybe but I doubt it.

“Verlander was like Nolan Ryan, he threw 97, 98, 100 miles an hour from the first inning to the ninth inning. He got that big contract, now he can barely reach 92, 93. What happened to it? He has no arm problems, nothing’s wrong. It’s just the signs are there. The greed ... they juice up, they grab the money and it’s just a free pass to steal is the way I look at it.”

How many times have we seen a guy "Go Off" like this during the last year or so before he becomes a free agent, then BAM big contract and down they go.

May not be proof but it does have to make you wonder.

I've long thought Pujols took PEDs because of his uncanny recovery time from injury and how he just burst on to the scene with this unknown power.

I have come to the conclusion that PED use of one form or another is the norm in ALL professional sports.

A lot of us got caught up in the hoopla when Sosa and McGwire were "saving baseball" and pro ball was on the front page ahead of other pro sports. Media and public ate it up. Then when we find out the whole chase that summer was tainted and we're all up in arms over it. How hypocritical some of us were, including the biggest hypocrite, MLB. I'm as old school as they come, I hate that PEDs are being used but I'm not a fool. Guys have been using stuff for an edge or advantage longer than we'd like to know.

Pujols is taking legal action against Jack Clark.

Jack is still mad that Eric the Red took those two home runs away from him.

Why now, if he had these conversations with trainer 10-12 years ago, why is he just now coming out with the info.

Clear cut case of slander here unless Jack can actually prove beyond a doubt that Pujols was taking PEDs. Looks like the joke will end up on him if he can't manage to back up his statement with actual tangible evidence.

Clark has been fired.

Clark has been fired.

Deservedly so as well unless he can manage to back up his statements with legitimate proof.

I always believed Pujols was clean in his younger days, but now I'm not so sure. His body is suddenly breaking down, which seems to be a common theme with long time PED users. Also, the connection of Latin players and PED's is another common theme. Until he fails a test, or has his name connected with a PED scandal, he has to be considered clean. That's the other problem with the whole PED scandal....I think whenever someone does something great or is dominant for a period of time, questions will always arise as to the legitimacy of his accomplishments.
