August 6, 201313 yr I do not know how the NCAA rules work but what if his personal assistant was the one paid for him signing, (or he said he was) and they couldn't link any money back to Manzel as he has plenty already so him showing up with new stuff could be from his parents.

August 6, 201313 yr This is going to get very interesting. Let's say he does get ruled ineligible, he sits this year, then enters the NFL draft. What happens if he's a bust and never pans out? I was anxious to see him play this season just to see how he looked. I am skeptical that he will be a solid NFL qb, or even a long time starter in the league. He may be the next great one for all I know, but I just always got the vibe he is an excellent college QB that won't translate into being a good NFL qb. Another Tebow, Dennis Dixon, Matt Leinart, Vince Young, Eric Crouch, Jamarcus Russell, etc. I may be wrong, but I feel college is his bread and butter. In college football he can go down a legend, he can make himself for life just by being one of the all-time college greats. However, if he goes down with this and leaves us with just one season, what happens then? How will he be remembered? He will always be the first freshman Heisman winner, but unless he can put another one or two impressive seasons together I don't see him going down as one of the best. IMO he needs at least next season to be a success, and if he doesn't go pro even the season after. This whole ordeal may just change everything. But who knows? He may end up sitting out this year, go to the NFL, and eventually be one of the best in the league. Then this wouldn't matter, however, I don't think it's going to be like that.
August 6, 201313 yr Not Jerry Tipton @NotJerryTipton Folks speculating that Manziel will have to sit out the whole year. Only way that happens if it turns out he attended high school in Turkey.

August 6, 201313 yr ^ They will just make him sit out a game against a crappy team and repay the money.
August 6, 201313 yr ^ They will just make him sit out a game against a crappy team and repay the money. I would say it will be worse than that, the $7500 incident is unrelated to the stuff at the national championship game that broke yesterday, it's a different broker and a different date for payment of autographs.
August 6, 201313 yr ^ They will just make him sit out a game against a crappy team and repay the money. That's his college career.

August 6, 201313 yr Bilas tweeted a bunch of these searches & now the NCAA has disabled the function. :lol2: NCAA is a joke. I seems tweet that a lot of people are trying to leave the NCAA for other jobs because they know a lot of things are soon to go down and they want out before they do.
August 7, 201313 yr A friend on mine in Texas whose an A&M alum said it best: "He's not worth getting Ohio State'd for, but he's worth getting Oregon'd for".
