Doesn't the fact that you remember the jingle and who the advertiser is make it a success? Even though you remember it in a negative way, a lot of people will remember it in a positive way. I just heard it a half hour ago. I have no feelings about it, positive or negative. But when I hear the jingle I know the advertiser.

If you're asking me if I'm more likely to subscribe to their service because of the adverts, then no. Then again, I'm not one who's easily influenced by advertising.

 

The more that jingle bores itself into my head, the more I want to exact violence upon the singer and writer.

I agree that the jingle is somewhat mind numbing, but you remember it and that's what the company wants. I had never paid much attention to it other than it is something that does not interest me. To me it's better than the K Mart commercial mentioned in another thread.

I feel the same way with the tune being warbled in the current Prius commercials, "A Prius for everyone"

I think it is an excellent idea.

 

As someone that has done a fair amount of Internet dating too many of the people (men and women) are one way, their way, the only way went it comes to religion and since that is a deal breaker for many of them dedicated sites for various sects of bible thumpers is a good thing.

 

In other words, get over it Jim!

I wish I could. I can see your point from the marketing/audience targeting standpoint, but I don't have the same venom for the FarmersOnly.com or J-Date.com ones. And it's because of that atrociously horrific jingle, an earworm that is slowly but surely driving me mad.

My brother-in-law called them out the other day. Said the married in 2011, had a kid the next year. He said there weren't enough specifics on the dates, they clearly hooked up and she got pregnant, and they had little Jimmy nine (not necessarily wedded) months later!
