I suppose it would probably be a bit much to presume the Redlegs would bust out of their slump at SD.

4th straight game of scoring 1 or 0 runs. Is that good?

Walt needs to find us some offense because the current lineup is not getting it done.

A Chapman package for Stanton would be nice.

I would just assume the Baseball Gods are not smiling on the Reds this year. Last year they shone brightly especially after Votto went down and everything went right for them when they ran off a 22-3 run in July.

We can talk about their inability to hit with RISP, but the bottom line is that they don't hit.

Frazier and Cozart are killing me.

Cozart constantly diving at the plate. Just watch him. after all of his swings he is falling over the plate. If it is not a pitch inside it is a two hopper to the shortstop. Zero balance and without it he will not drive the ball.

Frazier. He is just sloppy up there. Zero pitch awareness. Will get himself out more often than not by swinging at bad pitches.

Chapman has to pitch and get consistent work. He sat for three games. I know it may not be by the "book" but he needs work even during road games in non save situations to stay sharp. Wasn't even close on any of the three sliders he threw.

Don't look now but Dbacks are only 4 back.

The "Trade Market" is too thin and the Reds don't have a whole lot to barter.

They are just going to have to ride it out and hope they can hang on for a wild card berth.

The door opened for them to gain some ground and they have not taken advantage of it.

The Reds are 17-20 in their past 37 games. In that span they are 6-1 vs the freefalling Giants and 11-19 vs everyone else. This is a very mediocre team right now. They do not have a lead in any season series vs a team that currently has a winning record. They are 31-8 vs the Giants, Mets, Cubs, Marlins and Brewers and 28-40 vs everyone else...Can you say overrated? They better hope for a pitching gem in their Wild Card game.

Without looking at everything, how many teams truly have a great record against good teams? I would assume most records would be worse than you think. Luckily for the Reds the Cards are also struggling. Pittsburgh is the only team winning right now

How many games can we lose with our pitchers only giving up 1-3 runs? So frustrating.

Very! They either will score 8 runs a game or less than 3. Never seen a team so inconsistent.

Faded out around the 6th inning. Woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and the highlights were on as I walked back to bed. Guess I didn't need to sleep well last night anyway... :taz:
