I am very outspoken and opininated on matters that I know. You have to give respect to get it. I haven't EVER tried to hide who I was to anybody. Just because you don't like how I talk doesn't make you an expert on occurances in MY life, regardless of what you do.

 

So, just out of curiosity, if everyone has your philosophy on "you got to give me respect, to get my respect", then who goes first?

They are held to an almost impossible standard. I think the big problem with this whole discussion is that two or three people are painting a profession with FAR too broad of a brush. That is blatantly unfair!

 

Yet you paint those people with the same broad brush, and you know absolutely nothing about them. Get off your high horse. Your constant act of being morally superior to everyone on here is tiring, especially when you're being a hypocrit in the process.

No, never implied you're a "trouble maker." Matter of fact I've not used that phrase once. I did however imply you are extremely argumentative when someone disagrees with you without saying anything of substance. It's one thing to disagree and give a valid argument. I also implied that I doubt you are respectful to law enforcement in your speech and inflections toward them based on the things I've seen you write and the amount of times I've seen you leave this site. It's all I have to go on...

 

But don't expect me to give you the benefit of the doubt in your stories.

A large percentage of the police that I and the people close to me have encountered fit the mold we are discussing, which has been my basis the entire time.

I guess that tells us all we need to know.

Whether you young guys like it or not, that is the truth. People who have the most trouble with authority figures, often have an angle that involves a history of going against established rules. As you get older your perspective will, hopefully, change.

Not at all. I'm reacting to one individual and those who espouse opinions similar to them. I'm not taking cheap shots at everyone who has the guts to serve and protect their community...including the few who take cheap shots at them.

I believe that these police officers went just a tad bit overboard to say the least. However, in general, police officers live a very stressful life not knowing whether the outcome of every single call/stop will result in their death or the death of someone else. It is a high risk, high stress job so if I were one, I'd probably be a little bit high strung as well.

 

A job they chose.

You have to understand that police deal with the worst of the worst on a daily basis. Most I've came in contact with arent necessarily overly nice but they're professional. They're not in customer service and I don't expect them to act like it.

 

Where do you get that most police seem to feel like they are entitled? I don't understand that comment.

Actually that is exactly what bussiness they are in, customer service. They serve all citizens.
