In any setting. Yes it's serious. You're casting stones and making statements on here about being respectful, etc.

 

I'm talking about being respectful in a position where you are SUPPOSED to be held to a higher standard...

 

What officers do off duty is none of my business, I couldn't care less. And to answer you question, no, I don't think someone who cusses a lot or says that is disrespectful. The setting and situation matter when determining respectfulness.

No where did I say only police should be respectful. Not once. Try again. Also, again, we are only talking about IN UNIFORM, ON DUTY. Anger issues? Based on what? The fact that I don't like being harassed by police? I couldn't care less how you feel about people who spew profanities and say whatever else they want ON THEIR OWN TIME. I HAVE zero respect for people who try to tell me what has happened in my life, my family's life, and my friends lives.

 

I'm respectful to people who are respectful to me, PERIOD. Have you ever had a cop pull you over, and the FIRST words out of his mouth are "Who's car is this?" Have you ever had officers stare at you, ask them if there was a problem, and they respond "There can be." Have you ever been told, standing on your OWN balcony, to go inside or go to jail? No? Then don't presume to tell me how I act towards police.

 

Not that you or anybody on this board deserve ANY explanation, but my record is C.L.E.A.N. One speeding ticket, ever. Never done drugs. The same with my friends and family. Minor traffic violations at most, yet ALL of them have at least one instance of these power trips. You don't have to believe it or agree, I really don't care at all. When a cop, or ANY person, is respectful with me, they get the same in return. When they aren't, they don't. It's pretty cut and dry and not a difficult concept to grasp.

 

I'm not ashamed of anything I have said on any social network, and none of that makes me a disrespectful person. I cuss a lot, who cares? I've said "kill yourself" to (even though the will NEVER see it) athletes on social networks after they ran their mouths and lost a game. Who cares? NONE of that makes me a disrespectful person. I've NEVER been disrespectful in a PROFESSIONAL setting, which is exactly what we're talking about in this thread. If you knew me AT ALL, you'd know that was the case, but again, I don't care. The people I care about know who I am and what I'm about, and that's really all that matters to me.

Just like traffic stop, maybe the plate came back to your mother or father and the office could see you weren't the age matching the registered owner. I dunno, wasn't there. It's easy to give your version of the events cause that officer can't give his version so you can spin it however you like. Not saying you are, but that at the end of the day, none of us know if you're telling Paul Harvey version or not.

The car has always been in my name... Since the day I had it. I have no reason to fabricate any of these stories. It's not like people are born disliking police. Things happen to make them dislike them. Has every cop I've encountered been bad? Absolutely not. I even thanked one after a traffic cop because he was so professional and respectful. But my experiences are what caused me to view bad cops the way I do.

 

And you're right, you weren't there for any of these instances, so how you can assume I'm wrong is beyond me.

You'll always tend to lean to one side, and I'll always tend to lean the other way, more than likely. It is what it is. Agree to disagree.

That's fine, but don't expect people to believe your "real life" attitude and language is a 180 from your Internet persona. I tend to base my opinions on things I know. I know the things I've seen written up until the point I got tired of reading filth in my live feed, etc.

Never claimed to. But you still don't know that the police you interacted with were rude to everyone they came in contact with do you?

 

And why is it ok to judge all police based on your limited interactions?

You have to understand that police deal with the worst of the worst on a daily basis. Most I've came in contact with arent necessarily overly nice but they're professional. They're not in customer service and I don't expect them to act like it.

 

Where do you get that most police seem to feel like they are entitled? I don't understand that comment.
