July 3, 201313 yr Qualities which are, of course, NEVER found outside the realm of law enforcement. Big difference. When faced with having to deal with someone who has those qualities in every day life we can tell them just what we think about their attitude and arrogance and not be arrested for it. Police officers SHOULD be held to a higher standard than the general public. I am grateful for their service but no one has forced any of them to take that career path. If they can't treat the public with the same decency and respect that they expect from us they should not be in that field, period.

July 3, 201313 yr I don't want to put words into his mouth, but I'm willing to bet that Deuce or some of his friends or family have probably experienced more scrutiny and unfair treatment from some law enforcement officers than a lot of us would even care to imagine. And not for anything they have done, but for reasons that are beyond their control. If true, I would say that goes a long way towards how he feels about law enforcement. This. Some people are just too sheltered or choose to ignore such things.
July 3, 201313 yr I believe that these police officers went just a tad bit overboard to say the least. However, in general, police officers live a very stressful life not knowing whether the outcome of every single call/stop will result in their death or the death of someone else. It is a high risk, high stress job so if I were one, I'd probably be a little bit high strung as well.

However, in this case I think we can all agree that 7 armed officers had little to fear from 3 sorority girls that they suspected of buying beer. Totally overboard in their actions.
July 3, 201313 yr It's not back handed. I am grateful for police and the work they do. That still doesn't give them the right to be rude and disrespectful in my book. You have to understand that police deal with the worst of the worst on a daily basis. Most I've came in contact with arent necessarily overly nice but they're professional. They're not in customer service and I don't expect them to act like it. Where do you get that most police seem to feel like they are entitled? I don't understand that comment.

I understand what they deal with. As was stated before, no one made them become cops. They chose that profession, knowing what they would be dealing with on a daily basis.
