What a joke! She gets fired for admitting she used the n-word a long time ago and in one incident it was a private conversation with her husband. Show me a person of any color who says they have never in their life used the n-word in one form or another and I will show you a liar.

I hope there's something more out there than we've been told. Otherwise this is a load of garbage.

To me it's simple. They made a business decision that she and the bad publicity that is coming with this is not worth what she brings. No different than Imus.

I don't care one way or the other. They get to run their business like they wish.

I've never said it other than repeating what another person said with the intent of pointing out how ignorant that person was for saying it. Even then I bet it's less than 5 times. It's just a word that I don't use. I've never said it in a joke either.

Agreed. And if another network this she'd be a good pickup, then they'll hire her.

Yep.

Call me a liar then.

Im sad to say I used it when I was young ( and dumb) dont care for it one bit now and no longer use it . Paula was wrong to use it but IMO the punishment doesnt quite fit the crime . it was nearly 20 years ago in a private conversation NOT directed at any particular person. Wrong but not worth being canned for . She wasnt even an employee of theirs at that time. people DO change .

Exactly! Network has the right to do what they want but it's getting a little ridiculous what some people will run from.

Maybe not the N word but to Eagles point, every one has said something that would be socially unacceptable to someone. We have all said something that would not be looked upon well if we were public figures.

Sure. When we do we say it in a safe environment so there are no consequences.

She didn't. There are.

So you've never said anything in mixed company or within earshot of someone else that could be unacceptable to someone else?

One of her conversations was with her husband the other I don't know. It would be different if she said it on her show or at a live event.

I'm not defending what she said just agreeing with Eagle that we all have said or done something that would bring us embarrassment if it came to light. I would bet that we have all been seen or overheard making these kinds of comments, just someone chose not to call us on it.

I'm pretty good at keeping my mouth shut and avoiding those situations. However, if I did and it embarrassed my employer then I would be at risk of losing a paycheck.

As would we all...
