We can all agree on this Handicapped Violation, correct?

Featured Replies

It's not a poor excuse for anything. How is it adding to anyone's struggles? If there were available spots, no one was inconvenienced?
There is NO good excuse for an able bodied person to park in or block handicapped spots. NONE! That is simply an entitlement attitude. They are there for a reason, a damn good reason and it should be clear to any able bodied person why it's wrong to park there. You're making excuses for bad behavior.

The link says to put in the placard number, plate, time and location. If they have a placard why would someone report them?
Fraud. See post #145.

That pretty much sums up the lesson that should be taken from this and the other threads. :thumb:

Anyone who would intentionally cause a serious difficulty for another person, simply to save themselves a very minor inconvenience, is self-centered and thoughtless. Not only may their actions be illegal, but they encourage adults to repeat their mistake and do a disservice to our youth by providing them a bad example.

Maybe I need to clarify... I have never and will never park in a handicap spot, because I'm not handicapped. I don't condone that, don't think it's right... Those spots are obviously designated for a reason, and rightfully so.

The uproar for this is outrageous. For the last time, if someone was denied a parking spot because of this or any other illegal parking job, then this thread and it's length are more than justified. There is been NO proof of that happening. We get it... You aren't supposed to park in handicapped spots. Everybody here is in agreement on that. But this has been drawn out to a ridiculous length, AGAIN, when nobody was proven to be REALLY inconvenienced, other than by principle.

I'm going to be honest....I don't park in accessible spots. And really, I'm not paying TOO much attention to who does. The reason I mentioned what I mentioned is because I personally know people who do it. And it burns me up. However if I'm at the mall, I don't pay a bit of attention to who are in the spots.

Question-are the spots reserved for pregnant women OK to park in or block if you aren't a pregnant woman??

Just so you know, I'm not claiming you do or would, I don't know you but I take you at your word. But many times when people defend this subject, I usually find they themselves are guilty.

It doesn't matter if they were inconvenienced, there is no reason to park there if you don't need it. Lets say there are six spots, all are open so a guy that doesn't need one parks there, he's only there for 30 minutes. In the first 10 minutes the other five are legally taken and another guy comes along in the next 5 that legally needs one and it's taken. What's he to do? This simple scenario should be in every able bodied person's mind, bar none.

You may not realize it, but you're still making excuses for bad behavior. Nothing personal.

Only if you're disabled...or have a really big trailer. :sneaky:

No offense taken here at all. And I haven't parked in those spaces, because as I said, they are there for a reason, and they aren't for me. :thumb:

It doesn't matter to you, but it does matter to me. Maybe that's just insensitivity to the subject on my part. You don't complain about two lanes being closed on a three lane highway when they aren't closed... The principle is the same, to me.

In the example you made, if that were to happen, someone should report the offender. I've said that before in this thread as well. I could be completely off base, I just feel like the number of times spots are available to the number of times someone is denied a spot aren't even close. Not even in the same ball park.

Question-was the 5 spot taken by a driver that LEGITIMATELY used his/her pass? Meaning. .was the driver or anyone in the car handicapped and patronizing the business? Because as much as this burns all y'all up....it burns me up more when able bodied people use an expired pass, or a friend or relative's pass, or use a pass they have so they can provide transportation, when they're just out and about on their own. I see this all the time where I work.

I don't know RM, I didn't take a hard look at that vehicle.

To answer the question if your first post, no.

In other words you are okay with someone blocking four handicapped spaced for up to a hour?

I think he was saying, no, we can't all agree on this as 4 pages will attest to that.

I meant the question, "We can all agree on this Handicapped Violation, correct?"

I'm with anyone that thinks it's bad. I would rather they block the driveway than take up handicap spots.

Maybe it's a generational thing, I don't know. For me, it's inexcusable and an entitlement mentality. Again, nothing personal.
