May 30, 201313 yr Usually Callaway Red or Taylor Made, but I will play anything. I found a Pro V1 the other day on hole 2 and played the rest of the way and shot better than I have all year. Wish I'd found a Pinnacle. Cause I don't think it was the ball. I love finding Pro V's on the course while playing at the club. I just laugh and say the old rich guy's must have been out today and were too lazy to pick up their $4 golf balls. LOL
May 30, 201313 yr My uncle taught me this: "Golf balls, beer and coffee. Three things you can only ever rent." I just play the shag bag balls. Buy a big lot of them at the store, spend 45 seconds looking for one you have no attachment for and drop a new one!
May 30, 201313 yr Bridgestone Fix- might be the best two piece balls on the market Top Flight Gamer- cheapest 3 piece ball on the market, good feel, good distance, can get some spin on it, I like these better than any Titleist 2 piece ball for sure. They now have a Gamer Tour model that I haven't tried yet, it's a few dollars more but may be even better. This is not your dad's Top Flight ball for sure. Wilson Staff Duo and 50/50- Just discovered these balls, seen them but had never used them till recently. I like them and can be had for cheap. "soft" feel, decent distance, close to the Bridgestone Fix. Srixon 333- Picked up a pack of these the other day at Dick's on sale for cheap. Liked them, not a bad ball at all. I prefer a 3 piece/multi layer ball, I think most of them have a softer feel and you can impart a little more spin on approach shots, though spin isn't something I can do that well. However, I'm not gonna pay $40.00+ for a ProV, Nike 20XI, etc when I see no difference in my game the few times I have used one of the high end balls.
May 30, 201313 yr Wish I'd found a Pinnacle. Cause I don't think it was the ball. You would be surprised. I never really thought there would be a difference either, especially for an amateur swing like mine. However, had a couple of really good players tell me that the compression of the ball makes all the difference depending on your swing. Basically everyone has a ball that fits their swing. I have slowed my swing down a lot, so a softer compression ball works the best for me. If you have a hard swing you need a harder compression.
May 30, 201313 yr If I had to pick a ball without paying, the ProV1x feels the best off the club head. If I'm buying them, I love playing Noodles and DT solos.

May 30, 201313 yr Pro V1's I buy them by the bag full when I go to Ashland. $1 per ball at Austin Hill (used but in great condition).
May 30, 201313 yr Usually black or a deep purple one. Most mini golf places has those two colors. I might start picking the ball that matches my Polo shirt though. Sounds like a winning strategy.

LOL You know the best time to look for golf balls is after there has been a big scramble tournament. Players often use good golf balls, but don't take time to look for them if they stray so they can get on to the next shot with their teams.

I'm guilty of doing this but only when I have been using crappy balls.
