May 24, 201313 yr Saw a similar article online, figured it would make for an interesting thread on BGP. In honor of Memorial Day, what are your 10 favorite or best war movies in your opinion? If you have more than 10 you desire to list, then by all means have at it. I will work on my list and post in a while.

May 24, 201313 yr Add to that: Enemy at the Gate Big Red 1 Sgt York Bridge on the River Kwai forgetting a ton of others right now...
May 24, 201313 yr 1. Kelly's Heroes. Yeah I know, not your typical answer, but still my fav. 2. Saving Pvt Ryan 3. Force 10 from Navirone 4. The Dirty Dozen Those are the ones that come readily to mind.
May 24, 201313 yr In no order: The Patriot Saving Private Ryan We Were Soldiers Bridge on the River Kwai Patton Conspiracy Glory Enemy at the Gates Full Metal Jacket Casualties of War Braveheart (I had to include this because I don't think you can have a "War Movie List" without it, but I made it 11th since the question was War and not necessarily American War) I didn't consider Schindler's List or other Holocaust movies options since they aren't exactly war movies. But I wanted to mention Conspiracy, fantastic movie about the Nazi's decisions which lead to concentration campus. I own almost 75 movies that I deem War/History, so I have a pretty good collection now.
May 24, 201313 yr It's not a top ten, but I would recommend that people check out the movie, The Messenger, starring Ben Foster and Woody Harrleson. Gives you a totally different perspective.
