Do you think he should be playing by now? He's been cleared by Doctors for months now and has been practicing with the team for over a month I believe.

So what reason does he give for not playing?

It's been a mental thing...

Rose Right now, I'm not ready so I'm just trying to take my time and just really, really be smart.

Rose said Monday that his status is "still up in the air. I might have a chance," although coach Tom Thibodeau ruled him out for Game 1.

Asked about Rose's availability for the series, Thibodeau said, "We'll see."

With many of his teammates fighting through injuries and illness to play, former Bulls player and current TNT analyst Steve Kerr said last week that Rose owed it to his team to play if he is healthy. Asked about that sentiment, Rose said Monday: "Everybody has their own opinion. The key words that he said is, 'if I'm ready.' Right now, I'm not ready, so I'm just trying to take my time and just really, really be smart."

Rose has been scrimmaging 5-on-5 since Feb. 18 and has been medically cleared to play for two months, but he still doesn't feel confident that his body is ready for game action.

"It's definitely hard but I know that this will be over with pretty soon. Who knows when it's going to stop, but I can't just get down on myself," Rose said Monday.

Even though they took game one, I don't think the Bulls have much of a shot in this series. If he's "mentally" ready, not sure if it can hurt to go ahead and give it a go. That being said, I don't think there's any way he plays til next year.

Softer than Charmin. Very disappointing. I know high school kids mentally tougher than him. I'm glad I just like his game and that he isn't one of my favorite players. I'd be very disappointed. My favorite players rupture their Achilles' tendons, shoot 2 free throws and then walk to the locker room without help.

So disappointing. It makes me appreciate and respect Adrian Peterson even more.

Kinda shocked that it took this long for this thread to be started. I was thinking of this today.

I would seem that he could play and should play, but with any injury I will defer to the injured to determine if they are ready to return.

He already plays 5 on 5 in practice. How is that much different? I'm sure he could give them 20-25 minutes a night.

Last I heard he said he wouldn't play until he could dunk off his left leg. He's been cleared for full contact practice since mid March. Dude is a wuss. He'll never win a championship. Not mentally tough enough and it's obvious now. Those Adidas ads make the situation worse IMO. They made it seem like he'd be back. False advertising. I'll never buy my kids Adidas.

It's not, I think that he should play...but I'm not him so it would be hard for me to decide for him.

So for me Yes he should play, but as a coach or GM I would not force him to....this year.

If I was the GM I wouldn't let him play so I could trade his soft behind.

Is he Johnny Cueto's brother?

We usually do too. My youngest wore the DRoses this year but his mom bought those. He's moving in with me so he'll wear Nike's until he gets to high school. They wear Adidas up there. Contract. Sigh.....

I believe the only adidas thing I have is my gym bag. Our baseball and softball team's have adidas jersey's. Basketball and Football have Russell Athletic if I'm not mistaken.
