Crazy facts.

Yeah... He was sac bunting... If he was making the decision to sac bunt there, you would likely rather it be your pitcher bunting than a pinch hitter....

If he was going to let someone swing away, then maybe he uses a PH, but not if he's putting the bunt on.

So basically what you're arguing against isn't the fact that Bronson is PH, it's the decision to bunt the runner to second.

Crazy facts...

Leake is an upgrade offensively from Lonesome Dove. So, sure that would have been an option.

If anyone but he was scheduled to pitch today, I would agree with you.

Zany facts.

That has merit. I'm not arguing that. But I can tell ya right now without a doubt that if he pinch hits Robinson and not Frazier there, there would be people blasting him right now for never using his starting third baseman, especially in a high leverage situation like that one was.

Yep, one AB would have been a huge detriment to him today. Good point.

Was he a good manager in Chicago?

Yup...

If he pinch hits Leake and he goes up there and gets hit on the hand, or pulls a hammy running the bases or any number of things where they have to scramble to find a starter for tomorrow then you would be the one saying it was crazy to pinch hit in the next day's starter in that situation.

Wrong.

What made him a bad manager? His record? You know this, players win and lose the VAST majority of games.

I guess you really can't steal first base.

Lou Piniella could. But I think they threw him out for it.

Ryan Hanigan went 1-2 with a BB last night for Louisville. I think we'll see a much improved Ryan Hanigan at the plate when he comes back. His thumb injury had to be a huge part of his struggles.

I like it, but it shows how little I know about myself. :lol2:

Is anyone else hoping Dusty keeps Cozart batting 2nd all year for the simple fact that LCRW stays gone the rest of the year? :lol2::popcorn:

Very true. Who else did? McClendon?
