Knowing that the Braves would have Kimbrel for the 9th, and that Robinson can't hit left handed right now it would have been smarter to save Frazier for 9th inning. 8th inning and tying and go ahead runs on the corners. You bring your best PH to the plate. Every manager in the league would've done the same thing.
May 8, 201313 yr Wouldn't be surprised to see Dusty give Bruce today off, but if he does play, I guarantee he goes deep. Has played every game I believe. I agree he needs a day or two off. Lutz has looked pretty good with his at bats. Don't think he'll start against the left hander though.

May 8, 201313 yr Probably a more unrealistic scenario, but I wonder if they may start to reconsider moving Hamilton from SS....With how God-awful Cozart is at the plate, it has to at least be in the back of their minds. If Cozart doesn't hit any better than this I would think they'd have to at least consider replacing him. I'm hoping that the hand injury is what has him messed up this badly right now. He's never going to be a great hitter but he's got enough power that if he can hit in the .240-.250 range he's servicable. Isn't there some doubt as to whether Hamilton can play SS in the big leagues defensively?

May 8, 201313 yr Author Yeah... Meso or Corky would've stayed in to catch... And thats about all the changes? Still had Robinson on the bench if he needed him... I'm not sure what you propose he should've done rather than 'deplete his bench'... Starter only gave him 5 innings and he was down. What was he supposed to do? Let a relief pitcher hit? Leake is an upgrade offensively from Lonesome Dove. So, sure that would have been an option.
