Ryan Hanigan went 1-2 with a BB last night for Louisville. I think we'll see a much improved Ryan Hanigan at the plate when he comes back. His thumb injury had to be a huge part of his struggles.

Touche, but I think we will see the Hanigan that puts the ball in play more often than not and hits around .270 or so.

Yep. And if I remember correctly Lloyd took it with him to the clubhouse instead of just throwing it into the outfield like Lou did--twice.

What made him a bad manager? His record? You know this, players win and lose the VAST majority of games.

He's also 17th all-time in games managed--he'd have to be well below average to not be in the top 18 in wins. Only one of those managers that is ahead of him in both wins and games managed doesn't have a World Series like Dusty.

 

I do have to give him credit. He's been able to manage more games than everyone except one other manager without winning a World Series.

 

Of the 17 managers currently ahead of him in wins, Dusty has a better winning percentage than 8 of them. That shoots down the argument that he is there mainly due to longevity.

 

As to him being bad in Chicago, he had one bad year. He also is arguably one Alex Gonzalez error away from putting them in the World Series, which that franchise hasn't been in since the 40's.
