Do you know of anyone who has Ran, Threw and Caught a TD in a single game?

Featured Replies

I would be willing to bet Dontae Smith did at Oldham County. Coach J are you out there.

Not sure if Donta ever THREW for one in any of the games where he caught one. When we put him in at QB, he usually found a way to tuck it and go with it on the ground (which was fine with me).

I'd be surprised if he hadn't done that, plus intercepted/took back a fumble (or a field goal in one case :irked: ).

The first game that Michael Bush ever played as a high schooler was the season opener in 1999 at Nelson County. Everyone was talking about Montrell Jones. They sent Jones and Bush deep to receive and County kicked to Bush. He scored. He also ran one in and caught one, and I think he may have played a snap or two at QB.

County ran into him again as a senior in the second round playoffs up at Male in '02. County was dropping 8 in coverage and really had a pretty darned good defensive game plan, but he somehow was able to thread the needle with some razor passes in the 4th quarter, and scrambled about 50 yards to set up the winning score.

Everybody has their favorite players they have ever seen play H.S. ball, and mine is probably Craig Yeast and Mike Bush.

Harry Lewis from mason Co. prolly done it during his career he was a stud and a half. But I sure grutza done it too, he was the kicker, the QB, and he ran with the ball a ton I think he might of caught a touchdown pass from lofton on some trick play in one game his senior year.

I believe Chaffin ran, caught and threw a td at least once this past season as well as kick an extra point and score a 2 point conversion.......

I'm pretty sure Curtis Pulley did this in his senior year.

I'm pretty sure Jacob Tamme of Boyle Co. has done so.

I'm pretty sure Curtis Pulley did this in his senior year.

Curtis did it against Male his senior year.

2nd play of the game Pulley was in the shotgun. Then backup QB/FB Brandon Robinette goes under Center gets the snap and Hoptown ran Tiger Quick Pitch and Pulley took it about 70 yards for the TD. Broke 3 tackles on the play.

2nd QUARTER Hoptown goes to their "4 Horsemen" look with 4 Wides. Pulley connected with WR Josh Ladson for 40 yard TD pass play.

2nd QUARTER Pulley in the shotgun FB/backup QB Brandon Robinette was lined up beside him. Pulley goes in motion Robinette gets the snap and Curtis runs a "Fly" goes up gets the ball and takes it in for the TD on about a 60 yard TD reception.

Pulley dominated the field on this night he ran for another 30 yard TD on a QB Keeper and threw for another as well.

I would like to see how many people have caught, passed for, rushed, and done other things to score in the same game. Other things could be like kickoff or punt returns, or interception returns. I think it would be even better if they had kicked either a pat or field goal during the game. Just a thought. I wonder if it has been done?

Against Louisville Central Joey Stockton of North Hardin rushed, caught, returned a punt, and an interception for a touchdown.

His junior year vs Hoptown, he returned a kickoff & punt for a touchdown and also threw and rushed for a touchdown in that same game.

Not bad for a little guy.

I believe Ron Blume did it this year for Johnson Central

Mike West at Lawrence Co a few years back.

Yes he did and Nick Meadows did the same also.

Wendall Yates of Mayfield scored all the points in a game for both teams in a Mayfield win against Paducah Tilghman. Yates kicked a field goal and took a safety for a 3-2 Mayfield win. Though he did not score a TD at all I still thought it was worth a mention while talking about remarkable single game scoring

I believe Ron Blume did it this year for Johnson Central

I think he did it in 2004 as well.

Don Gullett - yes, that Don Gullett of Cincinnatti Reds pitching fame

was a star in EVERY sport at the old Greenup High School (now consolidated into Greenup Co).

When he played against Ashland I'm pretty sure he Ran, Threw & Caught multiple touchdowns as well as kicking multiple Field Goals and Extra Points. Of course they still lost to the mighty Tomcats ;)

Hopefully someone with the precise stats will get on here and give the exact totals. It was a real high scoring game and I'm thinking Don held the single game scoring record until the era of huge passing numbers(I might be wromg on that last part?)

Anywho, it's nice to remember the days of talented athletes who were allowed to play every sport, became a famous pro athlete, and is still a friendly, down home person who lives/hangs out like a regular person in his hometown. :D

Gosh I sound like an old foggy, oh well.

Cheers, Woody Jr

...still hating those new OSU jerseys

Last season Ashland QB Ian Holbrook passed for a TD, ran for a TD, and returned an INT 75 yards for a TD against Clay Co. in the 1st round of the playoffs.
