Do you know of anyone who has Ran, Threw and Caught a TD in a single game?

Featured Replies

I went back and read the Paintsville vs. Evarts thread. I'm pretty sure he had 4 means of scoring TD's. I originally posted after the game that he threw for 4, ran for 4, returned an interception for one and returned a punt for one. So I'd believe that's how it was, but I've been wrong before.

The year end stats do not show Pugh running back an INT for a TD. However, I was thinking he did as well. Maybe the year end stats weren't put in correctly.

I know sometime throughout the year he did return an INT for a TD, just not 100% that it was this game. So I guess the stats weren't put in correctly, somewhere along the way. I posted the night of that game that he did it but like I said I wouldn't put the farm on it.

R.D. Reynolds - North Bullitt - This past year in playoff vs. Southwestern ran for TD, passed for TD and returned an INT 50 yds for TD!

Last season against Somerset, Jimmy Chaffin of Lynn Camp ran for a couple tds, caught a couple of tds, and returned a kick for a td. He came close to throwing a td, as a pass was broken up in the end zone. He also kick 4 or 5 extra points that night.

Vic Anderson MIGHT have done it against Highlands last season.

You're definitely right on those three, Woody. I can't remember, but it seems like there was a fourth school in that consolidation.

Maybe someone from GC can help us out on this one. I do remember that the consolidation took place in 1974 (then again, at our age, I'm not making any guarantees).

No 4th school in the Greenup Co. consolidation. Just: McKell, Wurtland and Greenup – hence the mascot “Musketeers” – as in the 3 Musketeers.

The only other high schools in Greenup Co. are Russell and Raceland (at least in my lifetime).

I think he did it in 2004 as well.

I believe Ron might have done this in 2004, but not in 2005.

The last game of the regular season was against Pikeville so it must have been the game against Evarts in the 1st round of the playoffs...Pikeville beat Paintsville last year at home 20-14. Having said that Pugh is a great QB, who is very athletic and a threat to score a TD with his arm or legs everytime he catches the ball. Pugh is the best QB going into the season in EKY and Class A IMO...he is going to be very good this upcoming year and as long as he is on the field for the Tigers they are a threat to win the district and/or region title.

Everyone knows how it pains us JCHS fans to brag on PHS  , but this is true. Daniel Pugh is quite an athlete.

Jeremy Brock did it for Corbin in the 02' season. Can't quite remember who it was against. Can anybody help me out? I am thinkin it may have been Larue Co.. I'll have to look at some tapes.

Rockcastle County

Jerry Pensol

1974

On the same play, three different times (Reverse to wide out) he ran one in, threw a pass to the RB off of reverse for a TD and then they faked the reverse and threw a pass to him for a TD. This was against Mercer County I believe.

Last season against Somerset, Jimmy Chaffin of Lynn Camp ran for a couple tds, caught a couple of tds, and returned a kick for a td. He came close to throwing a td, as a pass was broken up in the end zone. He also kick 4 or 5 extra points that night.

I was at that game, he put on one heck of a show. Even though Somerset pulled it out 41-40 i believe.
