September 2, 201313 yr Shaun Alexander did OK for himself. Pretty sure Alexander played in the Boone Co Pee Wee Football League up to the point of High School though I couldn't say for how many years he played. He donated the playing field lights several years ago.

Pretty sure he played for at least 6 years, could have been more years though.

Best part is, the loan payments are being paid from money they make off of soccer who rents it out almost daily, when it is not football season and during the week while in season.

September 3, 201313 yr Much ado about something Pi.....you dont lose that many kids and say Much ado about nothing. I guess I also dont see Dale or Brian Weinrich smiling and saying Much ado about nothing. I would be concerned, especially when several kids not playing are excellent athletes and could be huge contributors to the Bluebird program. I will agree with you though that many kids do not have to play several years of Youth Football to be an effective High School player. However, name the last kid that started playing the sport their Freshman year and went on to be a big time stud or producer. I am very curious to know. In the end, regardless of numbers or whatever, the Birds always seem to put out an extremely good Frosh team. This year's frosh coming in were not as highly touted as past year's classes but from what I heard about the Trinity scrimmage, they were very very impressive. I dont know what they do to those kids from Dec-Aug prior to their frosh year but it must be magic. The Bengals drafted one in the third round this year that never even played High school football. Locally, didn't Munoz son not start playing until his Soph year in high school?

He wanted to donate money to Boone County High School for a turf field years back but the Boone County School Board screwed the high School and said he couldn't unless all the county schools got turf field also. Pretty crappy what the school board did back then, especially now seeing how Ryle has a turf field and Boone, Conner and Cooper still have grass...or should I say dirt.

The Boone County BOE wouldn't pay the difference as it wasn't fair to the other county schools. If he would've covered all costs, then the BOE would of have allowed it.

That is what I heard from a BOE source as well. I had heard his mother would not let him play youth ball and that he put on cleats for the first time as a Freshman. Any info on what BCPWYFL teams he played for??
September 25, 201312 yr He played starting in at least 4th grade and might have been 3rd for the Jets. In 5th and 6th grade he played for the Wolverines. The head coach was Tony Roedig, the dad of all the Roedigs that played at CCH abd husband of Shiela Roedig who I think is the president of the CCH boosters. 7th and 8th played for the Chargers. He was tall, skinny, fast, and did not like to hit.
