Lakers say Kobe Bryant is suspected to have torn his left Achilles. MRI needed tomorrow to confirm but ... wowza

 

 

Wow, the rest of his career is in serious jeopardy. It would most likely put him out all of next year as well. Recovery time for that type of thing is around a year.

I've never been a big Kobe guy, but a player that great doesn't deserve to have his career go out like that. Hopefully it isn't the end for him on that front.

 

It may be late enough that this doesn't keep them out of the playoffs, but they are 100% done if they do get there.

The final gut punch to Lakers fan during this tough season. I agree DF he doesn't deserve to go out like this. He can say goodbye to all the time scoring title.

Of course, @kobebryant concluded his interview by mocking a question asking if we'd seen the last of him. "Are you kidding?!"

 

He's the most competitive player out there. I hope he can recover back to a high level of play.

I woke up to 5 missed calls, 7 missed texts and a message on my Facebook wall asking if I am okay. I was in shock at first. Got a little misty eyed in the car on the way to work. My stomach hurts. Getting ready to make myself watch the highlight of it. I'm glad I fell asleep at 11:00 last night. I may have been up all night. Just straight sick to my stomach.

Hate this for the NBA, hate it for my guys HT & PP92, & really hate it for Kobe. But I 100% believe he'll come back from this.

How clueless are the talking heads on ESPN? There were a couple who wondered if he could possibly play in the playoffs if the Lakers make it. Really? With a torn achilles? That was some of the dumbest talk I have ever heard on ESPN.
