Raceland's OL/DL Nevan Johnson (Jr. 6'4" 290 lbs) attended the National Underclassman Combine in Louisville last week and did well. He has been invited to the 5 Star Combine April 28th in Springfield, Illinois. Only 150 participants invited to the 5 Star Combines and it is covered by all the major recruiting agencies: ESPN, Scout, Rivals, 247 Sports and others.

No offers yet, but interest from: Union College, Campbellsville, Kentucky Wesleyan, Ashland University, Northern Illinois, and recently Georgia.

I am very glad to see Nevin get some well deserved recognition, he works extremely hard in everything that he does. Needless to say Nevin will be a force on the line for the Raceland Rams this season who have no shortage of huge, strong and talented linemen. If anything, Nevin doesn't get enough attention. Small Class A schools like Raceland, Williamsburg, Hazard, Pikevile and others like traditional powers Mayfield and Beechwood have talented athletes that I promise work just as hard or harder than the kids at well known big schools and they deserve mentioned a lot more than what they are. These small schools are spread all over the state and imo are overlooked for the most part. I am looking forward to what should be one of the best Raceland football teams in the history of the school and following Nevin this season and beyond.

Sorry for getting on the soap box but I am a small school fan.

Great to hear Newballcoach. Thanks for sharing. He has good hands and feet. Good attributes at his size.

I have met Nevan on several occasions and on top of all his physical skills he is a great young man.

With that size I believe we will see more and more schools take notice.

Please keep us posted Ram and oldrambler.

Excited to hear about his progress.

Saw big Nevin a few weeks ago at the weight meet. Hope he can find a school he likes.
