April 9, 201313 yr Can't wait to hear how baseball defends this one. That ump should be fired. Worst call I've ever seen. I actually can't believe Zobrist and Maddon stayed as calm as they did. I would have went ballistic.

I'm positive Joe's language was a bit saltier.

April 9, 201313 yr Usually with 2 strikes you swing at anything close. This wasn't even close enough to swing at let alone be a strike. One of the worst calls ever, and the way Joe Nathan reacted lets you know how bad that was.

I don't know if you fire him, but he may need to sit a couple games for that. Of course with the way most officiating is judged by the leagues, he'll probably be behind the plate for Game 1 of the World Series.
April 9, 201313 yr He lost sight of the ball because he was inside and assumed it was a strike. Never good to assume anything an MLB pitcher throws is straight. Way too much movement. He should be executed.

April 9, 201313 yr Hannigan would have framed it. Unless he was standing there with a bat, then he'd have swung at it.
April 9, 201313 yr Hannigan would have framed it. Unless he was standing there with a bat, then he'd have swung at it. And Meso would've dropped it...
April 9, 201313 yr "I saw the pitch and of course don't have the chance to do it again," Foster told a pool reporter after the game. "But had I had a chance to do it again, I wouldn't call that pitch a strike."
