April 7, 201313 yr I'm not a U of L fan. In fact I was cheering for WS. I thought the officiating was fine. A couple missed calls both ways, which is normal. Pretty even called game. Let them play a little more the last 5 or 6 minutes, but don't we always say let the players decide the game. Jump ball was the right call. Only call I question was not going to the camera on the potential flagrant. It was an accident, but by rule is that not still a flagrant? Congrats to the Cards fans. I believe it is only a flagrant if it is an elbow above the shoulders. An inadvertent smack to the face is not.
April 7, 201313 yr Louisville escaped with both Smith and Siva not playing very well. I doubt they get away with that on Monday, unless Hancock plays like an all-american again, you have to root for that kid though. I don't think that Dieng and Behanan had a point at halftime either; a lot of the players struggled, especially early. I'm sure a lot of it had to do with nerves too; can't see all struggling out of the gate again.

April 8, 201313 yr Very good game to watch. Wichita State played far better than I imagined, but UL made the plays they needed in order to advance. Not their strongest performance, but it was enough. I didn't think either team played that well. Wichita State had a great gameplan and controlled the game but UL made enough plays at crucial junctures to get the victory. Henderson went 1998 Cameron Mills on the Shockers. Whatever on the jump ball call at the end. Whistle may have been a little early, but it wasn't too egregious. Big deal. I do hate seeing an alternatating possession called in that situation. Seriously, what is the origins of that rule and why hasn't it ever changed? I have yet to hear any person say, "What an outstanding rule! Makes sense to me." Still no guarantees from that point but you like to see it play out.

I had a problem with the suggestion that being a UK fan clouds judgement on all things Louisville. In what world does a call that effectively ends the game not have more weight than one made four minutes earlier?
