Freshman forward Alex Poythress will return to the Kentucky men’s basketball program for the 2013-14 season, head coach John Calipari announced Tuesda

Poythress returning to UK next season

Good decision IMO. I thought he was starting to lean the other way.

Great news. Analyze whatever you want but this kid was not ready. I think being around and watching some "pros" next year will do wonders for him.

Agree he wasn't ready, and while I was critical of him quite often this year; the team didn't play well this year unless he did, especially after Noel went down. He'll need to rev up his motor or he'll be an afterthought, but if he does can be a real contributor. Here's hoping he understands this and brings it next year. This team is getting crazy deep for a change!!

This team is going to be unreal next season. If Wiggins comes on board, it'll just be stupid. I love it!

Having a bench is really gonna help Kentucky next year. That's what killed us this year.

This.

Keeping 2 of the 3 main freshmen isn't too bad..ha

This team is going to straight murder teams next season.

Kentucky is going to be HUGE.

6'5" Aaron Harrison

6'5" Andrew Harrison

6'6" James Young

6'8" Alex Poythress

6'9" Julius Randle

6'9" Marcus Lee

6'9" Kyle Wiltjer

6'10" Dakari Johnson

7'0" Willie Cauley-Stein

^ Team should win the rebounding battle by +10 every night.

In the end, Poythress may end up as more of a Darius Miller type player. Both had similar freshmen seasons, and both were oft-criticized as frosh. Obviously expectations were higher for Poythress though. May be a four year guy.

I hope Poythress and WCS both stay at least 3 years to maximize their potential and worth. I think they'll both fall further next war but with strong junior seasons they could set themselves up very nicely.

Woo. Hoo. I love it. Go CATS
