Who will replace Alan Mullins at Ryle?

Please explain. He had a D1 player and a great team last year. Should have made it last year and possibly this year. Trame was able to when he was there.

Steve Wright back to NKY would be a great addition to the 9th. Maybe they could reopen the Woodland Inn.

He got beat by teams that were as good or better each year. It wasn't a "great" team last year. It was a strong team. CCH got better by year end and beat them. No shame in that. If HC is in ANY other district they make the region in almost every one of his 8 seasons.

Clyde I respect your opinion but I have to disagree. If you're going to give a guy a chance at a school over younger candidates, his resume better include at least district runner ups. I would imagine at a public school, 8 years is too long gor a coach to last without going to a region tournament. Give me any other candidate. I think Goetz is a good coach but has not impressed me enough to give him this job.

If I was looking at him to be my coach that fact would be 100% irrelevant.

Why is that fact irrelevant?

That is an easy line to fall on, but like others have said he has had talent there, and let's face it to go to the region in the 35th you have to win one game. So in 8 years his teams couldn't win 1 big game? Even if you are the lesser team you figure you win 1 of 8. I think Goetz is a nice coach, but CovCath in particular wasn't super strong these past eight years.

Put it a different way. Even Beechwood made the Regional tournament in the last 8 years, and the Tigers sure aren't a basketball program. Goetz's run was a disappointment for Indians fans. I wish Erik the best of luck moving forward.

I believe coach Bowman would have the in at Ryle, considering he was there for 3 years and did very well.

BW made it when they had the best team in their history. That team was legit.

Again, put him in another district and HC is a perennial attendee.

That goes both ways.

Sometimes they also get to see little things that bother them.

Note: I'm not saying this particular to Ryan Bowman. Just speaking in general terms.

Already answered but...

All districts aren't created equal. Silly measuring tool.

In my opinion bowman and blevins are front runners in every job posted, any program will be lucky to have them!

I hope they both get a chance to run a program. Add in David McFarland as well.

So just to recap the candidates:

Jim Hicks - HC at Grant County

Eric Goetz - former HC at Holy Cross

Dan Trame - former HC at Walton Verona

Brandon Grammer - HC at Seneca

Ryan Bowman - JV coach at Conner

Blevins - JV coach at Cooper

You're the committee, what 3 do you bring in for interview?

I have to disagree. I don't think Highlands has them as the front runners. One thing is for certain, Demler and Mueller better make the right choice. Both programs are struggling and need wins to come sooner rather than later with this hire.

I'd bring them all in. I don't know Hicks or Grammer though.

Ryle needs a "positive" guy who can communicate with kids and who can coach. Bowman and Blevins fit the requirement for me.
