I don't know why posters say coaches "deserve a chance". Can anyone name me any JV or Assistant Varsity coach from NKY to get a job at a big school like Ryle? Sullivan is the exception because he had previous head coaching experience as well as was an assistant on teams that went to state final fours. Looked back and found this on google:

This is not the resume of Blevins or Bowman who are the candidates you claim "deserve" a chance. Another name I am just throwing out as a possibility is Brad Carr. Very underappreciated and a very good coach.

Boone and Cooper draw more basketball players. It's all about the feeder schools and how well they're run. Ockerman and Camp Earnst are better run middle school programs. They have a better relationship at the schools they feed as well. Gray and Ryle are neighbors and the coaches don't even speak.

While not a graduate of Ryle this was the same situation for Mullins.

I agree I believe he was an assistant on Boone Co Staff not sure if he was JV coach or not then he was the freshman Coach at Ryle before landing the Head Job.. I think there is an absents between Boone and Ryles Freshman Job

Somehow students find their way into those schools. The prime example is the Moss family. They live maybe 500 yards from Ryle, live in Ryle's district, and went to Boone. just come up with some lousy excuse or get a relative's address.

I know for a fact the situation and it was bogus! If you can live in the area of the school with no problems, then you can go to the school with no problems. I know what "excuse" was given to the board and it was not the real reason. I will not elaborate on what excuse was given but the real reason the kids left was because one of the kids didn't feel they should be held to the same standard as the others on the team.

In know for a fact coach Bowman/Blevins are both ready for their chance. Both have demonstrated they have the ability to get there kids to play hard with passion and with class. I have followed both these two young coaches since the start and their isn't a program in the district that wouldn't be lucky to have them. Every year they seem to have successful seasons on the JV level; not because of the amount of talent they have but their ability to get results without much talent. Also just because someone has more varsity coaching experience doesn't make them more qualify for the position, it all depends on what the program is looking for. Not sure what you have against coach bowman and blevins but I'm for sure you don't know either of them very well and their varsity coaching potential. Anyone who has seen these two guys over the years, would agree.

I'm not bitter I just know for a fact what happened. I do not like kids leaving schools because they're not happy with coaches and our schools and kHSAA allowing it to happen. If you don't physically move, you should not be eligible. The standards of coming to tryouts, practice, running for bad grades and missing practice, being accountable for your attitude, etc. It's no lie that coach Olivario is a tough coach but so is Fooks. Ryle would be better if the Moss' would have stayed and the kids would have learned a valuable lesson too. You can't leave/quit when things get tough.

NA, just because I don't think they are right for the job doesn't mean I do not like them as individuals. I look at what Ryle has coming back, they will be very raw and need a lot of work. In my opinion, which i have the right to, Ryle needs someone who can build on that raw talent and draw/keep the basketball players that will come to their school. Blevins and Bowman do not have that experience yet as head coaches. This could be a rough season for Ryle and Demler and the coach will be under fire quick. This isn't Cooper where everyone knew they'd struggle out of the gate. Ryle parents have, and always will have, unrealistic expectations.

I have watched both coach a lot in the last 3 years and Blevins is far superior than Bowman in my mind. Better game manager, better sideline demeanor and way better handling officials. The kids would be happy with Blevins, most of them has said they would be very disappointed if Ryle hires Bowman
