I have to disagree. I don't think Highlands has them as the front runners. One thing is for certain, Demler and Mueller better make the right choice. Both programs are struggling and need wins to come sooner rather than later with this hire.

I'd bring them all in. I don't know Hicks or Grammer though.

 

Ryle needs a "positive" guy who can communicate with kids and who can coach. Bowman and Blevins fit the requirement for me.

 

Totally great both are great! I think they played ball at the same high school?

Blevins is solid on all accounts. 1. Relates well to player 2. Knows how to chop a player down and build him back up (something I "heard" Mullins could not do) 3. Knows the game inside and out (Sully's right-hand man). Where ever he ends up he is going to have immediate impact. Selifishly I wished he'd stay at Cooper but this dude can coach and has earned a head coaching gig.

Whoever gets Blevins will be pretty happy. Good coach. Better guy.

I'd say Blevins is a front runner for the Highlands job...if he has been in contact with them, of course.

It's obvious the message board is controlled by Blevins supporters/family members. Jk. I've seen Blevins since Cooper opened and while I think he might be a good guy that kids like, I'm not as in love with his sideline demeanor and don't know how much of his stuff Cooper runs to gauge his xs and os. I do know Cooper went to two region tournaments but never averaged more than 56 points per game during any season Blevins has been at Cooper. I would take any of the candidates with HC experience over Blevins or Bowman.

The year Holmes won the state championship, they only averaged 60 ppg...gave up 48 a game.

 

As long as you average more ppg than your opponent, it doesnt really matter how many you score a game. Blevins knows his stuff. Learn about his experience and background in basketball then get back to me.

Please tell me his bogus time as a reporter for hoopsreport.com counts as relavent experience! I can list myself as a scout and make a blog, that does not make me more qualified to be a head coach at a 6A school. Blevins and Bowman should get jobs at a school like Lloyd, prove themselves and then get these jobs. Cooper and Boone will continue to be at the top of the 33rd because of their draw in the school district. If Blevins comes in and has 3 losing seasons in a row, his career is finished and so is Demlers.

Sideline demeanor? I used to officiate a fair amount of Cooper games. He was one of the most respectful coaches I called for.

On a serious note, the forum is member driven. The only people that have semi-control are us staff members and I don't believe any of us have any connection to Blevins.

 

I don't know Blevins, maybe he is a just a great guy and a great coach?
