Cooper and Boone will continue to be at the top of the 33rd because of their draw in the school district. If Blevins comes in and has 3 losing seasons in a row, his career is finished and so is Demlers.

I think Blevins is a good guy. I didn't even know he coaches AAU, but do do a lot of people. Ryle needs an experienced head coach not an inexperienced program builder. If there is someone who applied that is younger, successful as a HC, and passionate, hire them. If not, give it to Blevins.

Too many schools look for an experienced head coach. It's tough to get experience if everyone wants an experienced coach. I'd guess Cooper is happy they took a chance on a guy with not much head coaching experience

Boone and Cooper draw more basketball players. It's all about the feeder schools and how well they're run. Ockerman and Camp Earnst are better run middle school programs. They have a better relationship at the schools they feed as well. Gray and Ryle are neighbors and the coaches don't even speak.

I disagree. Bowman has been coaching I think for 7 years in the district on all levels (middle, Fresh, JV, Assistant Varsity) with much success. Coach Blevins has been in the district for 4 years (I think) at Cooper. Both show a lot of promise in there style of coaching. I think both have plenty of experience to handle the pressures of being a head varisty coach. Bowman has been with two totally different programs and coaches, he was ability to adapt well to the different styles in order to have a successful team. Coach Blevins has demonstarted working through a program from the start. So I don't see how either of these guys couldn't handle the position, they both have proved to me that they can do it!! Just my opinion.

In my opinion bowman and blevins are front runners in every job posted, any program will be lucky to have them!

Jim Hicks - HC at Grant County

Eric Goetz - former HC at Holy Cross

Dan Trame - former HC at Walton Verona

Brandon Grammer - HC at Seneca

Ryan Bowman - JV coach at Conner

Blevins - JV coach at Cooper

 

You're the committee, what 3 do you bring in for interview?

 

None of these individuals will be coaching Ryle next year.

Sometimes I feel that people forget to think that a good head coach isnt just a person that can draw up some fancy x's and o's, that is the easiest part of the job, but more importantly its how that person manages players, parents, fundraising, boosters, paperwork, how they work with their youth teams (middle school, AAU, etc), and many other aspects of coaching that people NEVER see. It all depends on those people on the committee and what they feel is most important.

Sideline demeanor? I used to officiate a fair amount of Cooper games. He was one of the most respectful coaches I called for.

OMG, I had no idea you were a ref. When and why did you stop? Were you one of the refs that got bashed on here by the posters who know nothing but act as if they do?

I have no idea and wont pretend to. I think Ryle could get anybody they wanted. I just feel it won't be someone in this area. That whole area, the school, housing development, businesses, best facilities will certainly draw some big time people. I hope Ryle realizes this and actually thinks BIG. I think this position has the potential to be one of the top in the area, including Cincinnati. Maybe someone from Cincinnati or Northern Ohio.

Will be fun to see.
