NC won in 53, 63, 66, 73, 74, 75, 84, and 2000.

Everybody i spoke to at Rupp said they had the best team this year in the 9th.

 

Everybody you spoke to was an alum of NCC. NO WAY they were the best team in the ninth. Guards were inconsistent and inside people were soft.

They would be the third best in the 35th., behind Holmes, CCH and HC.

They need to stick to class A schools.

Okay, this has become a bit of a thread hijack and I apologize for initially having gotten sucked in -- dinnerforrwo, you probably meant well but this is what happens when someone lobs an inflammatory and unsupportable statement into the conversation. Let's get back to discussing the NCC players involved; they've earned some recognition and deserve their share of positive speculation from various BGP wizards. Discussions about rankings versus tournament play would likely be worthwhile but they should take place on another thread.

Yeah. That's correct. They won in 2000. It's their only regional title over the last 28 years.

I only went back 28 years. I figured that was enough of a sample to get a true analysis of NCC's history of winning the 9th region.

Not surprised one bit about McDonald and Schulte. Great young players. A little surprised to hear Pangallo is getting looks already, not because his play, but becauseI thought he was the 4th or 5th best starter on the team. Now, it wouldn't surprise me to hear this in the future of him, as he definitely has the talent for a young player, but with the hype of the other guys, just didnt expect to hear this.

 

Really good for him to garner attention this early!!

Belmont is showing interest in McDonald. They were in town and wanted to see him work out but couldn't get anything worked out in time on such short notice. They plan to see him sometime very soon. Possibly in Hampton at Boo Williams.

I know Clyde and I have had our battles on the talent level of Drew McDonald but curious to know what Clyde and Walter think as to where McDonald will end up at the college level?
