Newport Central Catholic players getting offers and interest

I must have spoken to all NCC boys then? And y'all must be a bunch of post season geniuses? With NCC being ranked above Holmes at the end of the year, I guess it was a good call by y'all to have Holmes beating NCC in tourney play.

Drew also went on unofficial visits to Western Kentucky and Wright State recently as well. Spent the entire day on both campuses, attended basketball games and met with the coaching staffs and players of both schools. I was told that he really liked both programs.

I have a feeling this is just the beginning for young Mr. McDonald.

I hope it works out for Drew, but would be suprised to see a 6'6" kid who plays almost exclusively in the post offered a D1 scholarship, hope it is true, but would be suprised.

Why would you be surprise and also it is true. They must see something in him they like. Also he is a true Soph so that means he is still growing wouldn't be surprise if he gets up to 6"8 or bigger. Congrats to Mr. McDonald. And to Mr. Pangallo who is also could be a D1 baseball player kid is a stud in that sport.

Chuck Hayes showed you can survive inside at 6'6.

Drew may still grow. Even if he doesn't the main thing he needs is to hit the weight room and tighten up the body. That extra strength will help him a lot.

In respect to Hayes, 6'6" is probably being generous.

Agreed.

Don't feel bad. This has happened before, and to better teams. When Holmes won it all in '09, Boone sat atop the final 9th poll.

That is pretty cool these boys are getting looks already. I hope they all get their tuition paid for thanks to hoops. Drew could probably get a golf Scholly as well.

Agreed. He would then be one of the tallest college golfers around. You don't see many 6'6"/6''7" golfers walking around.

Saw the note in the paper this morning that NKU offered him up, great news for Drew, obviously I stand corrected.

Pangallo plays baseball.I heard Shining Stars are trying to get him.

He played for the Shining Stars program last year. It will be very tough to play high school baseball at the JV/Varisty level and also play AAU basketball.

Awesome for Drew.

I've said previously that Schulte's best days are ahead of him.

I agree about Schulte, but he must develop a mid range jump shot and become more aggressive and consistent. At times this year he just dominated but other times he had spells where he disappeared. This summer will be huge for his future.

Everybody i spoke to at Rupp said they had the best team this year in the 9th.

Did they win the region? I musta missed that.

They pretty much don't win regionals. 1 time in 28 years now.

May not in Basketball but Newcath sure wins Regional's and State Championships in Baseball.
