Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati - Is it safe?

Featured Replies

I had friends who went to the preview and had a similar report as Sportsguy 41017. I don't like that part of town and agree that there will be trouble sooner or later.

I like to gamble, and used to love the now-extinct $5.00 table. I cut back to once or twice a year now that you are lucky to find a $15.00 table. It is too easy and painful to lose my limit in very short period of tIme. It amazes me that there are so many people that can play at a $25.00 table.

To think if you did actually win something you will have to fight for it when you get outside; I'll pass

At least in Indiana if I do have something left in my pocket when I walk out, it should last until I get home.

There were quite a few people that left Indiana and didn't make it in their house with their winnings.

Correct. It's a problem everywhere. Where there are people with money stuffed in their pockets there will be criminals looking to extricate said money from said pockets.

Will they have security patrolling the parking center? If so I wouldn't think there would be too much of a problem, assuming the parking structure can handle most nights like they claim.

At least the ring leader of that deal is behind bars!

I will check this place out, but like a high roller friend of mine told me the other night he won't play anything serious there until he is for sure it is safe or they have an adjoining hotel.

$25 minimum? That sucks.
Yeah, you can get $5 minimums, even in Vegas. They said that table minimums would be adjusted to the damand level. Hopefully, the more reasonable mnimums will be there once the hype winds down.

Go to Hollywood on a Saturday night and you won't find anything close to $5 minimum. It's opening week, of course the tables are going to be at high minimums. Table games are completely pointless to play for less than the $25 minimum anyways.

Every casino has issues with security/safety.

Give it a couple months and the place will be running smoothly. It's ridiculous to think it's going to go smoothly right out the gate.

Every time I've been on a Saturday (not often) they've had plenty of 5 dollar tables.

I agree with everything else you said.

In Vegas they feel much differently than you on that issue. I doubt that there are very many people here on BGP dumb enough to play over $25 a hand...unless they are ridiculously rich.

Exactly. :thumb:

Was there this afternoon for a little while:

* All $25 minimum blackjack, which I personally am okay with. When you get nickel and dime minimums you get lots of folks splitting kings.

* Only $15 minimum was three-card, which can be fun, but that is essentially $45 a hand.

* place is gorgeous.

* zero issues, fights, drama, or raised voices. It was crowded, but not crazy.

* buffet was awesome, especially for only $16 per person. The desserts are silly good. Busken cookies, Graeter's ice cream, and crazy pastries and cakes.

* parking garage had security, but honestly, I never felt unsafe. I cashed out several big bills at the cashier, was wearing a suit, and no one gave me a 2nd look.

* sorry this thread wreaks to me of people from northern ky not used to a ton of diversity. I mean no offense, but that is my opinion on some of these comments.

* there were a ton of cocktail waitresses, at least every 10 minutes at our table.

Overall, on day #2, I'd give them high marks. One suggestion I made, when asked by a pit boss, was they should run shuttles 24 hours a day down to The Banks.

I was there from 11-12:30 and I saw some $10 tables. I was only there for lunch but took a few laps around checking everything out.

My food was good, but service was what'd you'd expect from inexperienced servers. Everyone was friendly and I didn't see any problems. I'll go back.
