March 5, 201313 yr Got there after midnight, yes I won a bit on the slots, and it looks nice. Having said that, not being able to take your drinks from the restaurants into the casino is a crock, as well as the $25 minimum bet for table games (I am hoping that was just because it's opening night?), No restaurant open after about 2am, only thing open was Starbucks. Smell of weed in many places (on customers clothes), as well as on my coat when I get it back from the coat check, again from someone else's coat. Not having free soft drink machines like the casinos in Indiana is also a turn off. A lot of work to keep people from going back to Indiana! As I told people in January, how they picked and do security is a JOKE! It's next door to a bad area of town, and tonight there were a few fights, all involved people who only looked like they only had a few block walk to the casino, it will get worse before it gets better.

Jim Tarbell bought half of that part of town than got on city council to sell it for a profit. The baseball park was turned down. Main Street bar area lasted until the riots, now he has his dream with the casino? I'll give it a go, but I don't think it will be a frequent stop for me. Only in that city would you allow an inebriated patron who just won $1,000 to leave the doors and walk into the ghetto. There is a going to be a like of muggings and potentially murders down there if things aren't fixed. What a stupid location.

The parking is $1 per hour, But with a rewards card you earn points or whatever they called it by gambling and spending money in the restaurants. You earn 1 point for each dollar you spend at the restaurants, and the only other thing I know is 1 point for each $5 on the slots. It's free parking from 6pm - 6am and I think they said free all weekend. I was thinking the $25 for table games was possibly because it was opening night, I think Indiana raises the prices at nights on weekends and would expect Horseshoe to do the same. BUT, I heard they did the same thing up north, forgot it they said Columbus or Clevelend. They went from $200 million in December of 2011 to about $100 million in December of 2012. I hear people are fed up with the high minimum. Omega, Tarbell was there, lol. Mex, I saved your for last, as I see the same thing, I told people the past 3 months that their hiring practices were a joke. They may not have the best security, but you can bet every dollar that the security people will have perfect grammer in their reports. In the past month I told people that IMO something big would happen there within a month or two, how big? Not sure. But as Mex stated, when you put this thing within walking distance of the worse area of town, you will have trouble, watch the crime rate go up in that area. I see it getting worse before it gets better. BTW, a friend and I are going there about midnight Friday and eat at Margaritaville sitting close to the casino floor, as we plan on watching "the show", I would laugh but it's not a joke, there is a huge issue with safety.
March 5, 201313 yr From what i saw on TV during all of the news casts a lot of the patrons inside and outside leaving looked a lot like what I see at Wal-Mart the first and 3rd week of every month. Seemed more like off track than Las Vegas.

There was a bill in Ohio to include casinos to the prohibited section, not sure if it passed but it was introduced by the rep of the 56th district.
