Did I miss somewhere that Holmes won the Frosh Regional tourney this year? A lot of hype for frosh. They are nice players but by no means can they not be beaten.

 

They only lost one game this year with all frosh playing down together and that was when Boone upset them in the region tourney. Their only two losses as 8th graders were to a Thad Moss led team.

 

I never said they couldn't be beaten. Just stated they are the most talented and deepest freshman class in NKY. Do you not agree?

Heard through the grapevine that if he doesn't decide to play football he could end up staying at Villa with their DIII success this year. Not saying I believe that but I did hear it.

 

No chance...zero of him staying at Villa.

 

There is a good chance Villa will not even have enough kids to field a team.

This is an odd move to me... If Mullins leaves, from everything I see and hear it's because of parental complaints... And he's going to go to Walton, which gets more run about parental complaints on here than any other school... Hmm....

 

But I did hear the rumors at regional that Snapp would end up somewhere in Boone County, so that part of it does make sense.

 

Take it FWIW but Mullins was sitting with all the Walton kids at the 9th Region tournament.

 

Also heard a lot of the kids didn't turn in their uniforms at the end of the year and he sent out a sarcastic email to the parents about it and the parents have decided to "boycott" his end of the year banquet and just hold their own for the kids. After their loss to Covcath he told them in the locker room they embarassed themselves and he would have to think long and hard about whether or not he would be back next year and if he did return, everyone would have to earn their spot and playing time including guys like King, Stuhr, and White to name a few.

 

Have also heard there may be a kid or two that ends up at Cooper.

I feel confident Snapp would be the next coach at Ryle though if there is a change.

Would Snapp take his recruiting ways with him to Ryle? That whole system seems to be a mess out there. How could kids go from Ryle to Cooper? I thought you had to move in order to change schools in Boone County.

I like CovCath's depth next year. Could see them being really good and a team that does not beat themselves.

NCC will have a talented team and if McDonald gets even stronger and extends his range could be very good.

Holmes might not be bonkers out of the gate but come tourney time they will be very hard to beat.

No one will talk about St Henry but they return a lot. Noble and Kunstek down load could be a load. Rechtin and Plummer will be the senior guards, both kept improving as this season went on. Not to mention Adam Goetz will be a soph and he has a lot of promise in a program he's basically been in since birth.

Don't be surprised if Snapp of Newport is out at Ryle next year if Mullins ends up at Walton.....

I hear ya but anything can happen at Walton. They would be crazy to even consider Mullins. I think we will hear something shortly.

I'd say better than the chances of Newport keeping their team intact.

 

Could be a whole new crew coming in from what I understand.

Highlands has 5 senior athletes returning - all 5 having plenty of AAU hoops under their belt. 4 footballers though and Buten and Hergott returning from injury that cost them their junior season. For quick point guard Buten, it will be his 4th year dressing varsity but still looking for PT and sponsorship on that varsity stage. Couple nice long juniors as well..remains to be seen if great fun culture, pride and winning returns to that program...will require some leadership and a competitive healthy run (of consistent scoring) by these seniors for certain.

Highlands even being mentioned in this thread is a big stretch to say the least. I am a big fan, but the team will round out the top ten at best.
