What are the chances Hatton returns to Dixie?

I'd say better than the chances of Newport keeping their team intact.

Here are my top 5 teams in no particular order:

Holmes- Won JV Championship this year and have a loaded freshman team coming up that is easily most talented group in the area. Also return best player in the area in Bolden and front court starter Chames as well as bench players Housely, Herndon, and Hill who were solid for Holmes in the region tourney.

Dixie- Had one of the better JV teams in the area this past season and have the deepest sophomore class in the area with Rabe, Schreck, Bolin, Isbel, Strong, and Hedger. Also return one of the best seniors in the state in Brandon Hatton, and a steady pg in Daria.

Covcath- Return Ruthsatz, Heppler, Wichman, and Schuh as a solid foundation to build around. Also had a solid JV team and a freshman team coming up that lost in the championship game of the freshman tourney.

Newcath- Return arguably the most talented sophomore duo in the region in Pangallo and McDonald. Will feature the best front court in NKY with Schulte, Weyer, and McDonald. Depth will once again be a question but the JV team was solid and has some size.

Others you slide in the top 5:

Conner- Return a solid jr class led by Barker and Hemmerich. Also have Way, Lamblez, and Ruholt coming back. Have one of the better athletes for his clas in sophomore NIck Watts. JV team lost to Holmes in the JV region championship

Boone- This is a team I think could make the biggest jump as they return virtually their entire team. McDonald, Ordu, and Hixenbaugh in the jr class. Also return a very good sophomore class of Stanley, Stockwell, Borkowski, and Mayberry. Frosh group coming up is one of the only teams to beat Holmes this past season, led by Blake Donovan.

Cooper- They return a good jr class of Morgan, McNair, McNeil, and Holland. Have one of the better sophomores in the area in Colin Hathorn. Depth could be an issue with this team as well.

These bottom 3 are the only ones I could see being mentioned in the top 5 outside of the above named 4.

Don't be surprised if Snapp of Newport is out at Ryle next year if Mullins ends up at Walton.....

CCH will have tremendous depth next year. The 4 you mentioned plus : Cole Von Handorf, Schult, Shumate (really good 3 shooter), Romes, Willet, younger Heppler kid (6'6 with nice skills), current frosh whose name escapes me that played JV (about 6'3 and athletic), Theobald.

Sweeney?

NCC will be the top team next year.

Holmes will be good, but I don't see them as good as they were this year.

Newport? really..they lost a lot

Conner..heard Barker will not play and will try to graduate early for football. (I'm sure others will correct me on this if I'm wrong)

Dixie should have a strong team.

CCH, will be right at the top.

Sweeney?

Thats him. Nice looking athlete.

I wouldn't have the Colonels any lower than 4th next year. They will certainly be capable of winning the region.

I think next year it will once again come down to 4 teams...Dixie, Holmes, Covcath, and Newcath. Would be surprised if anyone else won the region.

Have to disagree with Newcath being top of the region. Very good foundation with Schulte, McDonald, and Pangallo but after those three and Weyer, there really isn't much that separates them from anyone else.

Holmes will be one of the deepest teams in the region next year. People are really sleeping on the junior class of Hill, Housely, and Herndon. Also, the freshman group will contribute at the varsity level next year. Moore might be the best sophomore in the area. Anyone who has seen him at the AAU level knows what I'm talking about. Steffan Greene is the kid that I'm most excited about. They have 7 kids in that class who would likely see playing time anywhere in nky next year as sophomores. (Moore, Arnold, Brolley, Greene, Lucky, Englemon, Martin)

This is an odd move to me... If Mullins leaves, from everything I see and hear it's because of parental complaints... And he's going to go to Walton, which gets more run about parental complaints on here than any other school... Hmm....

But I did hear the rumors at regional that Snapp would end up somewhere in Boone County, so that part of it does make sense.

Heard through the grapevine that if he doesn't decide to play football he could end up staying at Villa with their DIII success this year. Not saying I believe that but I did hear it.

Is Bolden the only sophomore on the roster Walt?

Did I miss somewhere that Holmes won the Frosh Regional tourney this year? A lot of hype for frosh. They are nice players but by no means can they not be beaten.

Fred Vickers and Rod Avery...Rod is a kid that grew a couple inches from his frosh to soph year. He could end up being very good as well as he is in the 6'3-6'4 range and very good athlete. Fundamentals are still catching up to the growth spurt but he has improved throughout the year.

Forgot that Glover will also be back next year. Needs to work on his defense and get stronger but anyone who saw him this year knows he can fill it up when given extended mins. I believe he had 19 or 20 in the Scott game and 16 against Covcath in the first meeting.
