Top Pitchers in the 9 Region

Featured Replies

The last person Ive seen throw 90+ was Jake Cain from NCC 3 years ago and it was a Dodger scout that clocked him. His only problem was that his fastball was all over the place so he threw mid 80's consistently and it still was a blur to the hitter. I know it can be done, but there might be one pitcher every few years in the whole region that can hit 90, not 5 from the same school...:ohbrother:

And even more rare and I do mean rare, is the kid who can do it over the course of 7 innings!

Was talking to a parent most of the game. Don't know Heppler, so didn't know if he was a righty or lefty. Now I know!:isurrender: I did think that they ran 2 lefties but obviously not. They do sell Adult Beverages out of my car though!!!

Did you happen to notice that a lefty threw the first 5 innings? Hep isn't a lefty! :idunno:

And they don't even serve Beer at the HS games! :thumb:

Nope only three and Davis threw 5, Basford didn't record an out and Heppler threw 2 innings.

Would one of the Beechwood fans/players identify the kid that pitched the last inning during yesterday's Beechwood/Ryle Varsity scrimmage? Of all of the pitching during yesterday's outing I will give props to that particular kid. Nothing against any of the other pitching as all had some pluses and minuses but all and all the last Beechwood pitcher put up a good showing... IMHO.

The last two to pitch were Stringer and Combs. Both are freshmen.

I had a "pretty good" view :sssh: of all the pitchers that threw yesterday. Stringer threw harder than I anticipated and has a nice curveball. Combs was a bit wild, but certainly looks darn good, especially for a freshman. But for my money, the Beechwood kid that most impressed me was a junior named Jason something (odd last name, can't remember it). He was about their 4th or 5th pitcher. Threw very hard, very good control, and an absolutely ridiculous curveball (as in ridiculously good). I thought Ryle's pitchers all did very well. I was impressed with Ethan Brennan. Never saw him throw before and he throws very well. See is throwing quite a bit harder than last year and I think is going to have a great year, as he mixes speeds well. Surprised I did not see as many changeups throughout the day's pitching as I would have expected. Almost as if kids are using their curve as the change of pace pitch.

I would also like to point out that the home plate umpire in the Beechwood-Ryle game was horrible. :lol2: (inside joke).

Jason Suchanek he plays ss for the Flames 17u..

Jason Sukanek has a quality arm. He can run it up there quick with good location and a nasty hook, slurve whatever it was, it broke hard. The frosh for Beechwood looked very good with some solid play at 3rd. The Ryle hitters look like they can be intimidating. Both teams got in some good work and a chance to evaluate their strengths and weakness. The ump did hustle out to make a call at 3rd, all wasn't lost, lol

Ludlow has a couple of pretty good seniors. Both pitched well last year. Chris Cameriana-left hander and Timmy Helmer-right hander.

Both have good control and descent velocity.

Looks like in early action some of the St. Henry flamethrowers lost to Scott.

I see where you're going with this but I do bet it was hard to get the "flame" going when it is 30 degree's. At least the pitchers won't have to ice their arms as they probably never got warm.

Beechwood's Pitchers will be solid this year and even better next year. They have good seniors this year like Schumann and Parker. The juniors have Suchanek and Randolph who are both good. Sophomores just have Hyde who is good. Then the freshman have Stringer Combs and Fieger who are all good. This team is deep in pitchers as any of these guys could start varsity. I didn't even name all of them, just the best.

I scout for a local college.I can tell you that no one in NKY is throwing 92.All this bullcrap seems to be coming from St Henry faithfull.I would suggest your school invest in a new gun because the one your using now is accurate.

thank you bluebirdman!!!! amen!!!!!

Nick Davis had his second quality start and gets the win for CCH in the 13 - 3 win over NCC.......You have to add his name to the list.
