I think Bolden has a ways to go but fortunately he has 2 yrs to get stronger and better. Good experience for him though.

Sounds like he needs to go down to 16u. JMO.

He's just not getting enough mins to get in a rhythm. Also playing out of position at the two. That is the evaluation I got from two high major coaches this weekend. Both said he needs to be getting 20+ and he is playing anywhere from 8-14.

One of your guys told me the kid playing ahead of him wasn't better than him.... Take it fwiw but the college coaches I talked to seemed to agree that Bolden is a better option and said if he were getting the same mins, he'd look just as good and be able to get in a rhythm that allowed him to adjust to the physical play. Playing the 2 is forcing him to defend bigger kids than he'd see at the 1, which is getting him in foul trouble. Coaches seem to think he isn't being used properly. He's the type of player that needs the ball in his hands, ball screen at the top of the key, and let him do his thing. Travelers have enough shooters that running this would work well with McCormick and Justice As shooters.

 

Outside of Justice Winslow and Houston Hoops, there aren't too many teams with pgs bigger than 6'1-6'2.

Bolden may be great but I would think this is the reason coaches across the board usually do not evaluate during HS sports. Big difference in what you can do in HS vs AAU or club sports.

Bolden will be ok he is learning and will get better the more he plays the better he will get. It could be to that he is a little burnt out from this past season and all the attension he got might of wore on him. Good Luck to him and all the kids playing aau Ball keep on working hard it will pay off.
