In the older days afternoon games would start at 4:45 and everyday was spilt sessions. The sun would come in the endzone and may it almost impossible to shoot from the corners.

Montgomery Co. should have a decent crowd. They just informed the parents/students/staff in the entire county that every school would be dismissing an hour early so that folks can make it to the game.

Were they ever earlier than 4:45. I keep thinking that I took off work to go see a regional game in the afternoon. Maybe around 2:00pm? This would have been in the mid 90s when Billy Ray Fawns played.

Last night was the first time I had seen Montgomery County play. Very athletic team and well coached. The pre game show is worth admission. They played lethargic the first half against a much smaller Nicolas team. Second half they showed what they are capable of doing. I've seen Brossart several times and I think they can hang with the highly ranked Indians. They will need to execute their game plan which is very possible. They are very disciplined and when you give a guy like Coach Code 3 days to prepare for a team, It will make for an interesting game.

I think several people forgot that you have to play EACH game and not look ahead. I think in the first half, the Indians were looking ahead. But then at halftime, they met Happy Osbourne. Everyone saw the difference in the 3rd quarter.

Brossart's gotta get physical with Montgomery. They have to take good shots, frustrating them on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

 

I haven't seen Montgomery, but it seems like they're extremely talented. I still think Brossart's experience, composure, and toughness wins the game. Atleast I hope so.

I'll be interested to see if they go with length or physicality against Prewitt. Trentman's length, Saunders athleticism, and Rieger's toughness will give Prewitt different styles during the game, which could frustrate him. Interesting to see the battle of the PGs too.

If Montgomery plays like they did in last night's first half they will not win. However, methinks a fire was lit in the second half.

I'm with you in not liking the 5:00 time slot, but I can't imagine a scenario where The Fieldhouse is half empty.

 

Indians By 8, I love a small school upset, However I just think Montgomery County has the better team.

 

This is around the margin I'm thinking.

 

They are very disciplined and when you give a guy like Coach Code 3 days to prepare for a team, It will make for an interesting game.

 

And this is why Montgomery is far from being a lock IMO.

MoCo is far from a one man team. Can't just try and contain Omar and win.

Brossart plays good defense, but Rieger really gets after it defensively.

Rieger doesn't get a whole lot of mention for Brossart but does a lot of little things that make them successful. Brossart is athletic enough to match up well with Montgomery Co. Taking Brossart in a mild upset!!

Montgomery's run and gun fast break offense along with their physical and talented bumble bee defense will win hands down by double digits.

Having seen both teams play a couple times, I have to give MoCo the advantage. However, neither team can afford to get into foul trouble!
