I love Brossart and I think Mike Code is at the very top of his craft, but, they don't have enough for this one. They won't be out-prepared, won't be out-coached, and they certainly won't be out-worked, but they don't have the Billy's & Joe's for the Indians.

Brossart has a player that I won't name...he has the slowest shot I've ever seen and he nearly cocks it behind his head. Prewiit and Jones will have 10 blocks between them.

You must be talking about number 33? Yes he a very slow shot. Takes a while to release it. He is a fine player. Seems to be very smart. But your right moco will be up in his grill.

The difference in this one will be the two new faces in Mt Sterling... Wallace and T. Jones are quick, strong, and good pressure defenders. They will make it tough for BB to remain fundamentally sound and play at a slow tempo. In my humble opinion...

I've not Seen Montgomery County play this year, I've had the pleasure of seeing a sound Brossart team play a couple of times. But by reading these posts I'd recommend Brossart not load up the bus, stay at home and get the baseball gloves out. I thought the 9th region had some arrogant fans until I looked into this thread? Usually you at least get the back handed compliment when you get on here, nope, not by these fans.

I'll have to root for the HUGE underdogs, whose players are not very good and get off slow shots, to win. I hope someone keeps BGP updated (well for at least the first 2 minutes of the game until Montgomery has is locked up)

My guess is by the end of this game there may be a few names that the Montgomery County folks will remember. What's that kids name who wears 33?

The only team to beat Montgomery Co in a close game this year was Bryan Station, and that happened because they never let the Indians have their typical 3 minute spurt where they go on a 10-0 or 15-4 run. In all the other close games the Indians played this season (Dixie Heights, Collins, Scott, Mason Co. and Harlan Co. come to mind) the Indians had a 3rd or 4th quarter run to move either a deficit or a small lead into a comfortable double digit cushion.

I think this game comes down to whether or not Brossart can control the tempo for 32 minutes. If they can only control it for 29 minutes that probably won't be enough.

They are fans of the game , that have kept up with the teams, records, opponents, and etc. and are making, in their opinion , an honest prediction. Whether it comes true or not will be seen at the final horn on Friday night. But I would not call anyone "arrogant" for their opinions/predictions.

I, for one, have been keeping up with this Brossart team since they won the 10th region Freshman tourney 2 years ago. I know they have played together for a period of time and know each other. That can be scary.

I also saw a Montgomery County team at the Toyota Classic that came in on a mission and really surprised me with their focus and energy and won the tourney. And if that is the team that shows up on Friday night, I guess I will be "arrogant".

In my opinion, Alex Trentman will be the second best player on the floor Friday night. Great body, good feet, and a smooth stroke!

We played both teams this year and my assessment would be a very close game. Montgomery is slightly more athletic but Brossart is more disciplined. If Montgomery shoots the ball well it could make it tough for the "stangs" to keep it close but conversely, if they don't Brossart could very well win. Should be a dandy.

Most high school teams have the luxury of playing with each other for an extended period of time.

 

Others have the benefit of having several starters transfer in.
