Two things that don't last long. Dogs chasing cars and teams that don't rebound in the tournament.

I think rebounding will tell the tale in this one.

Agreed. If Newcath gets in foul trouble, Holmes has a huge advantage, obviously.

My guess is around 5k....The fieldhouse was full top and bottom the first time these two played and I'm sure the result of game 1 will bring out more "casual fans."

 

I assume Cooper and St. Henry fans will get there early as well. I have a nice seat on press row, center court.

 

Really wish this was the late game instead of 6:30 tip.

I make Holmes live by the 3 and die by the 3. If Bolden gets ridiculously hot like he did last game, then he earned it. I do everything that I can to stop penetration. I don't see Bolden, or Seibert, approaching their last games. I think Seibert gets nearer to his average of 8-10 and Bolden still gets 20. If Holmes shoots under 30% from 3, I don't see them winning. If Schulte and McDonald don't get in double figures, NewCath will be in trouble.

NCC must stay out of foul trouble. If any of their starting 5 gets in foul trouble Holmes chances increase significantly.

 

Holmes must get scoring contributions out of everyone with Bolden doing his usual thing.

 

Big time players set up in big time games as Bolden did in the first meeting. This will be on the big stage. Will NCC make the proper adjustments in guarding Bolden? If it turns out like last time Holmes will win this time around.

 

IMO, these teams are pretty evenly matched. NCC has the better starting 5 man for man but Holmes has the better bench along with the best player on the court.

 

X factor for NCC - Seibert. First game exploded for 26 and was the huge difference maker. Will he be able to contain Bolden and keep him under 20 points? If not, I like Holmes. I also, don't see Seibert going for 26 again. If not, Bueter will need to replace that scoring.

 

X factor for Holmes - from what I have seen Palmer has been pretty consistent offensively although he got torched by Ruthsatz (29 on him) on defensive end in distrcit finals. I am going to go with two players. Chames defnsively and Coston offensively. Holmes needs Coston to knock down a couple threes and get going offensively. Chames will have the tough assignment in guarding McDonald.

 

Holmes can't wait to turn the intensity up and Bolden can't be their only source of offense in the second half. If Bolden gets 30 again, Holmes will win this time around.

 

I am going to give the slight edge to Holmes. There is so much parody in the 9th region. After beating CCH handedly, Holmes turns around and loses to CCH by 1. NCC beats Holmes in double OT at home and draws Holmes in the first round of region. I look for Holmes to find a way to win this time.

I don't have a prediction to make as I have only seen NCC once and Holmes twice. But I am looking forward to a great game tonight and possibly meeting some of my fellow BGPers.
