Has Dan Trame Resigned?

Featured Replies

Can't imagine he'd be high on the list right now, after the girls' loss to Grant County.

So one off night eradicates the Eighth Region title and All A Classic Statewide Championship?

Well.......it is Walton after all.....................

Walton scrunity and I'm not involved!!! Can't believe myself!!! :ylsuper:

Timeout, was he fired? Remember the excitement of the WV faithful when he got hired?

As I recall, the last girls coach at WV, who was very successful, resigned citing stress concerns.

Yes Cory Miller. Very good coach and person just like Dan.

Have known Danny since he was a youngster wandering onto the basketball court on Lewis Street in Covington in the middle of our games. He's a great person and a fine coach, has always been passionate about what he does as long as I have known him. As a kid he NEVER quit, sort of a throw back. I'm sure if he wants to coach anywhere else, he'll not have a problem finding employment.

Maybe he is quiting because players have left and he is losing alot of players for next season and he can't muster up the energy to coach a young team? I think it is easier for a coach to want to coach a team with some good skilled older players than wanting to start with a younger team and know that there will be alot of work. Maybe?

He was not fired. He resigned. There is a difference. And personally, I can't blame him for making that decision.

Then perhaps its time to scrutinize Walton's AD. Losing 2 quality coaches in a short period of time merits closer examination of administration and culture.

Who knows Walton hasn't and isn't going to ever win a meaningful Boys basketball game.

Do they expect to hire John Calipari? High school basketball at its finest.

Outside seniors, are there other players leaving?

Is he a teacher at the school?

Yes.

Thanks for clarifying; I agree. I was hoping he wasn't fired. Absolutely outstanding coach. My two favorite Trame moments; him leading the Neers to state (one of only two trips mind you) and the Blue Blazer and bow tie that he broke out against SK in the District Final a couple of years ago. Walton was a pretty big underdog in that game and they pulled out a win.
