February 19, 201313 yr I've had similar semesters in college but I didn't care much for the lack of interaction with female peers. Somehow I doubt he's struggling with that.
February 19, 201313 yr I'm taking all online classes right now for the first time and I find it to be harder rather than easier
February 19, 201313 yr Makes it even easier to cheat. Must be nice. Not necessarily. Some online classes are offered online but when it comes time for an exam, you sometimes are required to come to an actual lecture hall to take it. Some classes though offer their exams though online too. An example of this would be the Medical Terminology course offered by UK. It is an online course but used to requires its students to come 4 times a year to a class to take a separate exam on the material. However, they have since changed this and made the exams available online. However I do know some other online courses at UK still require their students to come occasionally to class for exam purposes.

I take my exams online using a remote proctor device...I sign into my exam by scanning my fingerprint, I have to make sure my desk is clear and the proctor device records a 360 degree view of my room as well as sound and it also locks my computer so I can't minimize and do any type of google searches for answers etc...the professor then reviews the exam for any red flags...technology is crazy but it beats going to a campus location to take the exams...online classes are ten times harder than traditional classes IMO, you have to manage your semester yourself and be able to set your own deadlines, no face to face communication means you basically read and try to teach yourself the material, no final exam study sessions as well means you are both the teacher and the student...very difficult

February 20, 201313 yr I'm taking all online classes right now for the first time and I find it to be harder rather than easier I think online classes for many folks are a lot like going to the gym. Getting there(class) is hard but once you do you're focused and ready to do work. Not being in that class room setting it's easier to forget or you may just lack the motivation even. Just my take on it.
February 20, 201313 yr Not my business....don't care really.....he's not a role model for my children...
February 20, 201313 yr Good for Johnny. Even though I really like the guy I have a feeling he's going to get humbled a little bit this year.

My daughter took her first-ever online class over the winter break (she is taking a bunch of science classes even though she already graduated from college). This was through WKU; she ponied up something like $1300 of her own money to take their Exercise Physiology class online. Our internet service is spotty at best. For instance, when the phone rings, internet connection is lost. Anyway, she was taking the final exam; had just finished and was starting to check her answers; planned on doing that until time expired. BOOM, internet connection lost. She was in a panic. I was out of town at an auction, so couldn't help much in response to a couple of frantic texts - just told her that I hoped the prof would be accommodating. For two days she checked to see if her grade had been posted. Nothing. Tried to e-mail her instructor. Nothing. Finally found out that she made a high B on the test and an A for the class, but it was nerve-wracking for all.
