I think this win is bigger for Elliott than many realize. This is the kind of defining win that they have been searching for for a long time. They have a history of running out to a nice record, only to see the season go to pieces in late January and February. It is nice to see them win one of these big games late in the season. I'm not sure if this district is seeded or not, but they are now 4-0 in district play. I just noticed that they get a shot at revenge on Fairview on January 30th in Sandy Hook. I hope they are able to get revenge for all the Elliott Co. fans that were left out in the cold at the championship game of the All A Classic (not in the game - I mean literally told to leave because they didn't have room for us!!!).

I agree the after the Fairview game this is somewhat of a shocker, however, that was just 1 game, the Eagles player really well and the Lions played really bad.

 

Tonight was a great game by both teams, Elliott took Morgan's best shot and kept going.

 

Is Fairview #1 now? I don't think there is a clear #1 in the region, but they are no doubt one of the teams to beat.

Good to see Elliott get a big win.

Elliott had four player's in double figure's. They were led by Evan Faulkner with 17 pts, 4 rbd's. Ronald Weddington had 16 pt's 8 rbd's. Jonathan Ferguson had 13 pt's, 10 rbd's. Ethan Faulknerhad 10 pts and 3 rbd's. A very balanced team effort!!!

Great game by Elliott last night. They hit a lot of threes at opportune times (Bank shot off the glass from the dead corner, 60 ft. jumper at the buzzer). I disagree that Elliott got Morgan's best game. Our perimeter defense left a lot to be desired tonight as well as missing several second half layups and short jumpers in the lane. This is not an excuse for the loss though. Elliott also outhustled Morgan on the glass and deserved to win the game. That last three from Haney sure did look good in the air though. :cry: Congrats to the Lions on a great game. :thumb:

"60 foot jumper"? I'd say that other than the Lebron James commercial, most 60 footers are heaves rather than jumpers.

Yes, Elliott County deserved the "W". They made shots, as they seem to do every time they play Morgan CO. IN years' past, even when Elliott has lost to Morgan (which was their first win in 7 years over the Cougars) they have had many games with a chance to win or be very close thanks to the hot shooting. Elliott is a great 1 on 1 team. They started the 3rd quarter with bank three pointer from a severe angle :creepy: and then ended the quarter with Weddington's 60 foot banger at the buzzer. When those shots fall, it's tough to beat a team like that. Tip your hat to the Elliott players for making great shots all night

Elliott's hustle from start to finish impressed me, and they weren't affraid to unload the 3pt. shots either. Congrats to Elliott on a good hard fought victory.
