Oh Clyde-liga!

2 posts ago is a long time?

I'm agreeing with you Clyde. You do in fact, have an opinion.

Clyde, there is a difference between not

liking an artist's music and saying they don't have talent. You're embarrassing yourself saying he is devoid of talent. I can't stand the Eagles but recognize

they are talented. Bob Dylan & Neil Young are two if the worst singers

ever but both are extremely talented.

There you go. I think Dylan is the greatest rock singer ever. Music is in the ear of yhe beholder...

Notice I said most talented musician, not most talented singer or song writer. The guy is an amazing musician and IMO where his true talent really lies. Plus he is a hell of an entertainer, at least in the 80s he was.

Most songwriters worth their salt have to be mildly competent as musicians or they wouldn't be able to compose, or play live. Virtuosity is nice, but at the end of the day who the hell remembers anything Yngwie Malmsteen or Leo Kottke has done? Gotta be able to turn a phrase.

Never really listened to Hank Jr. to form an honest opinion, but you know who is devoid of talent and can't sing or write worth a crap?

John Mellencamp.

Can't write?

"Dribble off those Bobby Brooks and let me do what I please" is lyrical genius - Dylan-esque.

Oh please! Don't even begin to utter his talent-less name in the same sentence with Dylan! :p

Shoe is on the other foot now, isn't it! :D

Time to start a new thread.

You may be right, but I like listening to his music.

Heck, I think Springsteen's voice sounds like the grunts a severely constipated person makes on the head.

But I like listening to his music.

Re: Dylan - I never did drugs as a kid so I have no ability to like him.

Tal-ent [tal-uh nt] :

1) a special natural ability or aptitude.

2) a capacity for achievement or success; ability

Hank Jr. is extremely successful; therefore, by definition, he's talented.

Whadayuknow...I'm talented! Woot! :D
