Then change it to 1,000.

How is the vote done? I know you get nominations and review them.

Is there a committee and everyone votes? Or does Guru decide with input from others?

I'm leaning still at DE. Jackson had almost 2000 yards rushing and 33 touchdowns and the argument by Toothpick is that Jackson should have gotten it at LB so obviously Jackson is one hell of a linebacker. How do you properly honor a kid like that who has obviously excelled at an above average level at two positions? IMO, by getting the ATH slot. The #1 DE in the nation running for 1000 yards doesn't make me want to put him at ATH. Get to 1500 yards and 20+ touchdowns and it becomes a conversation. It also depends on what the nomination email had to say as well. If he backed up his #1 DE ranking and the email focuses solely on his work as a DE then I am guessing the choice will be DE. I think how well others have done at the position play a part also. If there are 5 other DL that are worthy then I don't have a problem moving him to the ATH slot so the other 5 can be recognized. That's probably also part of the reason the ATH slot is there.

2010

Lamar Dawson ran for 686 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior, gained 270 yards receiving and 1 receiving touchdown. He had 4 interceptions for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns and he was credited with 171 tackles including a game where he registered 33 tackles.

He got ALL BGP Team as a LB and got BGP Player of the Year.

The year before that in 2009 Rees Macshara made it as an ATH and Lamar made that team also as a LB. It was very crowded at RB that year so I was happy to Rees on the team period. I had fun arguing that he should have been Mr. Football.

So is Bertram and Boyd better than clyburn?

Obviously some think so.

Clyburn was the best lb in the state this year.

He wasn't even the best Lb in Louisville, Trinity's Bertram had that distinction, particularlly in head to head competition.

Go back and watch the T-X game.

Avid,

I am sure I speak for all of us when I say we wish Clyburn nothing but the best but promise me this, next year please come to us in the nomination process instead of after the fact.

The first team QB... 113-207 1556 passing 187 yards rushing in 7 games... Sat the rest of the year. IMO should not have made the team.

Austin Collinsworth made it as a RB in 2009. You have no legs to stand on.

That certainly was a consideration (lack of games played).

We had to make some tough decisions and we strongly considered some other QBs like McCoy, Barker, and Wright in no order.

You would be right about his uncle not being named to the All BGP team. Then again, the founder of BGP was probably still loading up diapers when Mitch's uncle played high school football. :D

If I can brag a bit, how cool is it that I've had two sons and a nephew all make All State and All BGP as O linemen? Since my oldest son started wearing the number 62 back in 2005 (or was it 2004), the number has been worn continously by those three. The number will pass out of the family this Fall. Hopefully whoever gets it will wear the number with pride and go on to be All State and All BGP also. Maybe some day the youngest nephew on my side of the family and Mitch's younger brother will get to wear 62 also. No pressure there at all. LOL.

The reason I stunk in high school? I wore number 63!

Congrats Mitch. Very proud of you too!

Pretty darn good run for the family. And big expectations for one young man coming up. I hope he surpasses those expectations.

Should have included the following IMO

Dominick Brown. EKU

Jeffery Canady

AAron Jackson. WKU

Tranard Chester. EKU

Austin Pray.

Hello? Is this thing on?

Hello? Is this thing on?

Down boy!

I missed that one.

There is a committee and we discuss and debate for a long time. No vote.
