Tom Thompson was a great ref and person. Now Doc Morris had one of those hugh marbles in his yellow flag and loved to throw it at your helmet when you did something stupid (hold, clip, facemask, etc.,) and it would just ring in your ears. He was a cut up and loved what he did I agree R.I.P. DOC. JD

Coach telling your age now LoL !!!...Was about to say Scoop Brown my self..Did'nt know there was to many around that remembered him

Some of those go back to 1961. Age is only how you feel. Old most of the time.lol

He is too young to retire, what is he doing nowadays?

Pretty sure he works college exclusively.

Cornbread starting officiating in 1957. And is still officiating. Lot of changes in the game since then.

With all due respect to Cornbread there is no way in heck he can still officiate.

With a name like Cornbread, my opinion is that he can do whatever he wants.

By the way, while I haven't talked to Chappie today my guess is he's not interested in being referred to as "former."

Charlie was busy working the All A. If you do see him, make sure to mention his recent birthday.

Well Cornbread is still at it. I have seen him officiate some games in the 8th Region this year.

He couldn't in the 80's either.

Hate...

Seems like I remember a Hummel? in the 9th from when I played in the early 80's. From what I remember as a teenager at the time, he did a great job.

When I read this thread, I keep thinking about all of the officials out there now that won't be mentioned in a thread like this in 20 years.

Dick Vories always did a great job.
