Covcath doesn't beat Winton Woods if Cheatham/Chatham (sp?) and the other stud for them plays that game.

Maybe not. Wouldn't have mattered though since they're in OH.

But a fully-loaded WW team is a top 20 team in KY.

Since we are getting testy, I know the Winton Woods coach personally. We had even discussed them coming to play in our showcase possibly facing Huntington Prep. He said they aren't remotely as good as they were the year before. I also have seen Taft for 2 years in a row. So, there goes the no one knows anything about Cincy basketball theory. Again, If CC is worthy it's towards the bottom of the poll. Same argument made for Holmes last week. Keep winning and things will likely change. The NKY homers make this thread fun.

The NKY homers seem to keep this website running.

So you create a poll and slant it toward your regional areas of expertise and call us Homers. Power of the pen rules I guess. I do agree that the polls always invoke a healthy amount of criticism and debate. But they are just polls. And probably more accurate then I care to admit.

I recall similar polls in 2009 stating Holmes could not go thru the Christian County, Lexington Catholic, Elliott County and Region 6/7 winner gauntlet. Can't remember how that ended up.

Guilty as charged. :D

1. No one is getting testy unless you call pointing out flawed logic as being testy.

2. No one is saying CCH is top 10.

3. CCH has CLEARLY earned a spot ahead of LexCath. Not debatable.

4. No one other than a BGP voter said they didn't know anything about Ohio basketball.

Like I said earlier CovCath could have a good win over Moeller and Moeller is 12-2 I believe. If Moeller played Mercer County or East Jessamine this week and lost to them also that good win for CovCath disappears. And also, Roger Bacon is 14-1(lone loss to LexCath). I've seen LexCath.

IF Moeller lost to Mercer or EJ? IF?

It took me about 2 minutes to find that Moeller is #2 in Cincinnati and top 20 in Ohio D1. Are you telling me that you don't think that means anything? Ohio puts out more D1 players than KY. Moeller has 2 or 3 D1 kids by themselves.

They're not losing to Mercer or EJ.

Moeller would be top 5 to 10 in KY.

One thing to remember Clyde, and everyone, the BGP Polls are not a pure vote. There is some voting but a lot of debate and such.

Cool. However LexCath got into the top 20 needs to be removed from the process.

.

Not debatable because you said so? Got it. Lex Cath and CC would likely split IMO.

Based on what?

Let's assume they would split.

Now you've got two teams and because it's a poll you have to rank one higher than the other. You think they're even but still...

What has LexCath done to warrant being ranked higher?

Tell them to schedule some Ky teams instead of Ohio teams so we can get an accurate view. I shouldn't have to figure out the quality of high school basketball in Ohio to judge Ky teams for a Ky website's rankings. It's BLUEGRASSpreps.com. Not TRISTATEPREPS.com.

Why, when CovCath can drive 5-10 miles to play instead of 100-150 miles.

Oh and look at the CovCath schedule before you make such a stupid statement! CovCath has played the following schools this season from throughout Ky:GRC, PC. St. X Louisville, Clinton County, E-Town, Lex Lafayette and MoCo besides the normal 9 region schools and will play Madison Central, SK and Scott in the next couple of weeks. With your comment alone, (in Bold) I question your ability to understand how to rate teams if you don't even understand who they have played!

PP2 you freely admit that you haven't seen CovCath play but I have seen eight of your top twenty in person and some more than once and have seen at least three more on film, so I have seen eleven of your twenty!

So what makes your assumption better than mine that Homes is worthy of a 9/10 slot and CovCath a 15-20 team!

BTW who does the voting, from what Regions are they from and who does the voting from your business largest membership area, which from the posting for Football Basketball and Baseball is Campbell, Boone and Kenton Counties?

LexCath has been ranked all season and y'all are crying about it now?

Way to pay attention.
